Benzema, more outside than inside Real Madrid.

Most of his teammates start not to trust his continuity.

He met alone with Ancelotti today and the club is already preparing his farewell on social networks.

A shame really as he is still brilliant and could have another great season in Spain. Maybe in 12 months he could go for the last big payday but just seems a tad early in his case.

Messi, Benzema, Ramos Modric and Ronaldo all potentially playing in Saudi Arabia next season is mind blowing. It’s a shame if they all end up there as outside of Ronaldo and to a lesser extent Ramos I think they all could still play at the highest level for another year or so but big Saudi money talks.

Fair play to Luka Modric being the only Ballon d'Or not cashing out.

Kanes ego won’t allow him to go to Real Madrid. He wants to break shearers record and that’s more important to him than trophies.
I'd agree if it was any other club but its Madrid and they absolutely will need him if Benzema leaves. And also it might be Kane's only chance if he wants to leave as they will pay the fee Levy wants and Levy would be much much much more likely to let him go there than to anyone in the PL.

Not going to happen but would be good to have him in the PL for a season then he goes to Saudi Arabia.

With the Saudi deal or another season at Madrid where he's seen and done it all over an over I can understand one more season there might feel a bit redundant, he might as well go to Saudi now in his mind possibly. I mean it's incredible how much these players have done for Madrid.

I presume Madrid are begging him to stay for one more season until which time they can take Mbappe on a free. Having to go back to a very shallow market for strikers at short notice isn’t ideal.

He's been poor this season but there are no strikers on the market I would go for, 100M for a 30yo Kane doesn't feel good if it was even possible, bad timing for this.

It makes sense for Benzema, I don't think he's motivated enough to start again at a new club. Maybe he'll have one last season with Lyon after earning a lot of money in Saudi Arabia.

We still need him. Yes he slowed down this season, but we simply have no other options. Kane is 30 and too expensive. Mbappe train has passed. Haaland will be at City for the forseeable future.

Endrick comes next year, but he is way too young to lead the attack and who knows what he’ll be like.

Madrid, I think, won't be too upset to let him go at this point. He's had a lot of minor injuries this season and looks past his best. Maybe they can bring in Wout on loan for one season.

The problem is our squad is a bit thin.

We only have 19 players who get any substantial minutes, including the 2nd goalkeeper. We don't really have any young players waiting on the sidelines for more minutes, or loanees who are ready to come back (except Brahim Diaz). Nobody who missed the whole season to injury or anything strange like that. This is pretty much it.

Of those 19, we are losing Asensio, plus possibly Benzema and Nacho. That's 8000 minutes on the pitch we'd lose, and we'd have only 16 usable players. That's barely a squad.

So we need to buy more players. But we are spending 80-100m on Bellingham. He's useful in the long-term but we don't need a midfielder next season, we have six already. I'm not sure we have the money to buy the replacements we need, certainly not for Benzema.

Saudi Arabia going all out for the WC in 2030. They're bringing in every Ballon d'Or they can and pumping up their league with ridiculous money that only City and PSG can match

Would love him for a year, then he can go grab the Saudi money, sign Rasmus for 40-50 and he can take over in a years time.

Yeah, I hear you. I guess they've won all there is to win and the chance of a serious injury next season could seriously derail that "1 last payday" a season later (not that they need the money anyway but i guess, mo money, mo problems)....

Has a reigning Balon Dor winner ever taken a step down like this?

Oh dear.

Modric communicates to Madrid that he wants to leave after receiving an offer from Saudi Arabia of 120 million for three years

As much as we love them, I think this is a good opportunity for Florentino to wake up.
You can't always have transitional seasons and I think Karim has reached, or is about to reach, a big physical slump. His last season was regular and the next one doesn't have to be any better.
Modric is very good, and he will still be very good in ten years time in a tribute match but he is no longer fit to be a starter.
I suppose Ceballos will renew although I don't see him as a serious player to be a starter.
If, as they say, they go for a right winger, then it's Rodrygo's time.

He's been playing at the top level of European football for 19 years now. He might rather go now than suffer the ignominy of being seen as too old and not good enough anymore, like a certain CR7.

I'd say he deserves a few years to wind down

Unexpected, I'm sure he could do another season at Madrid.

Wonder what Madrid do now ? they desperately need a striker.

If Kane does move to Real (Spur not going to sell him to us anyway), perhaps we could try to make a move for Benzema instead?

Incoming Benzema and Hojlund this summer, that would be the experience and young strikers ETH is looking for.

He would come without a fee too, which would be good for us. And he could also hang out with his old mates (Varane and Casemiro) here. Seems could be a perfect move for all parties.
