I can get on board with Osimhen over Kane because of the ages and Kane's pace
But you have to be deluded to prefer Hoijlund at this point.
I don't know, but I'd prefer Felix over Osimhem. I don't want Osimhen, for some reasons, I think he will fail in Premier League, and especially in our team, considering the other attacking options that we have, and also is super expensive.

And I think Hojlund is a talent who can be world class in a couple of years.

I don't think we're getting Osimhen either considering Napoli want £150million. Their chairman is just as difficult to deal with as Levy is.

Realistically it'll be Hojlund.
Yeah if we don't sign Kane as looks likely now then there is still a chance we go for Osimhen in a year or two when price drops

in a way, I've always felt it was destined for him to join us at some point ... but if it's not this summer, I doubt it ever happens.

I still can't get my head around him signing that 6 year deal back then, without securing any sorts of realistic clauses in there. One of the most baffling decisions by a top footballer I've ever seen.
If you were a top footballer, on say 100k a week, and the club you're already at, say, how about signing on for 200k a year, chances are you'll not take much convincing.
Players always have a sort of arrogant belief that if needs be someone will pay enough to sign them, however long their deal is.

Trouble is I can see Chelsea agreeing to cave into Napoli's extortionate demands this window. They're more desperate for a striker then we are.

Bayern and Madrid need a 9. I think that Madrid will try to have him before July but IMO he won't leave Spurs and stay confortably there, ask another pay rise and will finish his career at his club.

Anyway, we wouldn't be able to compete with Madrid attractiveness or with Bayern's negotiators.

We already got rejected by Mbappe and Haaland, and who knows maybe also Kane. The attractiveness isn’t really that big of a factor. And Bayern aren’t really known to go overboard or outbid other clubs.

If he does leave Spurs, United/Madrid seem the likeliest of destinations. Won’t go to any other club in the PL, Barca got Lewa, Bayern maybe and he won’t entertain Serie A.

I take it they'd ask United for at least 160m then if they were open to selling to us

I would've liked him at United but I'm not that bothered about his move to Madrid.

Slowly giving up on this one. Think he’s off to Madrid.

Madrid tend to get things done.

Wonder if Levy can work in some buy back if the move doesn't work out too well or Madrid after two years want to move on.

Second Madrid came in we had no chance realistically, benefits Spurs to ship Kane abroad and probably benefits Kane to win a few la ligas.

Can't even lie, I'm a bit excited at the prospect of watching Kane and Bellingham at Real as an English football fan

If it wasn't going to be United, with that thick cnut Levy, then Madrid isn't a bad outcome/option for him in the slightest.

He'll finally start getting the worldwide plaudits and recognition that he deserves as one of the best in the world that have evaded him playing for a club like Spurs.

Also helps potentially sidetrack what was shaping up to be Barcelona domination of La Liga over the next few seasons until Real tried again for Mbappe/Haaland :)

fecking Benzema can feck off
I doubt we would have been able to sign Kane considering the large amounts that Daniel Levy would ask for. Im trying to look at it like Madrid have done us a favour since we wont spend all summer trying to go for a player that most likely wont join due to the fee and instead we can move on very early in this window to go for more realistic targets.

Probably helped having Bellingham to play alongside with. I personally don't think Kane will succeed over there and will end up back in the Premier league at one point.

They’ll chuck him on the scrapheap the second they get wind of Mbappe or Haaland becoming available, or some other insane talent that hasn’t shown up as of yet.

Personally can't see Kane not being a big success in his debut season coming off the individual season that he just had playing for a much much worse side. He scored in more matches than Haaland FFS!

Madrid aren't done investing in their squad either and they still have an enviable mix of veterans/legends of the game and some of the brightest young talents and players in the world in their team.

Only the City juggernaut came in their way of repeating in the CL.

Mark my words, Vinicius Jr to Kane is going to be Son to Kane on steroids

Is he not arsed about Shearer's record now then?
He can still break it in 2-3 years if he so chooses to come back to England. It's not like he's done with the Prem forever. He's still 29 and takes very good care of himself, we've always seen strikers in their mid 30's still putting up decent numbers in the league.

In a few seasons they'll likely agree to part ways with Kane ready to take aim at the record and Madrid ready to make Haaland/Mbappe in their prime their main man.

Think that would be as storybook a remainder of his career as he could write honestly

He will still come back and get that bad boy in a few years time.
You expect him to bang 30+ goals every year until he’s 36/37?

Shearers record is done if he goes Real for 3 years & then back to the prem for another 2-3

Still can’t get over so many of you are convinced this is happening/happened.

It hasn’t.

By all means it could, but it hasn’t happened yet.

Who cares about a league-specific goalscoring record? Dumb stuff. It's trophies that matter.

I don't think so. He will be 33 and be 48 goals away. I think he can do 16 goals a season across 3. Or even 12 a season across 4.

It still boggles my mind how Real keep spending these reported fees with the pseudo-state backing.

Well that puts a wrench in things.
Oshimen ain't moving and there ain't really any other elite striker out there.

100m on Kane, 90m on Bellingham…Madrid not fecking around
They just lost Benzema and have to replace Kroos and Modric, those are massive losses but they're also a serious club about winning/competing so they'll never hesitate to splurge in the market when necessary to maintain their level of expectations.

I think I’ll wait for some English & more specifically Spurs journo’s + Romano to jump on it before being convinced. Until them, I’m certain he’ll stay at spurs or stay in the Prem

Agreed, it’s the one regret I have about the Fergie years - we never strengthened when on top. After the treble and after 08, we only stagnated or got worse.

I could see the Madrid move going very poorly for Kane. Barcelona are in the ascension while Madrid are aging faster than their bringing in the young blood. He might not win the league for the next two , maybe three years. Their Champions League runs are also likely to be less than certain going forward.
Well he'd be replacing Benzema, then it's only really Kroos and Modric as older first team players than Kane. Madrid have a core of younger midfielders in Tchouameni, Camavinga and Valverde to help phase them out, with Bellingham still to come. They won't have an aging problem with their team.

All noise coming from Spain for Madrid and Kane. Virtually nothing from England and us except for "we're interested" so I don't expect us to sign him even if he doesn't eventually sign for Real Madrid - unless we pull a rabbit out of the hat. But I just can't see Levy going for it unless we offer absolutely obscene money.
