He wasn't even in their best top5 players.
In a season where you win the treble you don’t have to be in the top 5 to still have been pretty good.

But he absolutely was in the top 5.

Definitely not top 3, probably not top 5.

Haaland, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Dias and Stones all better for me.
Rodri, and I am pretty sure few City fans here said Ake had better season too.

Regarding United, I would easily have Silva and Mahrez before him too.

Yes, and Rodri definitely better as well. Maybe he is on par with the likes of Bernado Silva, Kyle Walker and Ederson.

For me, Grealish is fully unremarkable and very lucky to be part of this City team. What he does well is keep possession, win fouls, and help out the defense by tracking back, but creatively he doesn't offer as much as Silva, KDB, Mahrez or Foden.

He is absolute trash. I don't care what anyone says, he's so basic and underwhelming. The fact the media love his off beat (dumb) interviews that they can clip and create content off means they don't discuss him being a £100m flop.

Helps when Peps team is smashing it as well but yeah, besides checking back onto his right foot and then falling over, what does he actually do?

People saying he’s unlikeable, he’s actually not, he’s surprisingly friendly and humble. He’s brilliant with fans, especially kids and makes time for people. He’s generous aswell. I loved him at villa and wanted us to sign him. People who say he isn’t nice, just see him on the pitch and His hair and style and assume it. Actually watch him and say he’s a prick, he really isn’t, he’s a good lad in all honesty.

The best thing Grealish brings is a pressure on the opponent from a side with his dribbling, i really like seeing it. It puts everyone on a badfoot that helps the rest of the team with time & space. It was more valuable to them than sterling tapping in every goal at the back post or pass.

Went missing in another big game. He’s really poor in big games.

But it’s a long season and not all games are big so you’ll get use out of him.

He loves a post match interview. If he were as good as the media pretends he is he would be some player.

I think the issue some people have is this "Jack the Lad" persona is grating after a while because he's not a young player anymore so certain things he says and does when the camera is rolling just comes off forced and boorish.

Agree with this, he’s always engaging in his interviews and has a likeable personality, which is pretty rare in top flight football.

Been on a 3 night bender

I'd probably do the same in his shoes.

possibly but that doesn’t make him not a decent lad. He’s only 27, he doesn’t have to be perfect. The main thing is he’s nice to people, which he is.

It's the year 2033 and Man City are just about to wrap up their fifth treble in eight years. You switch over to Sky Sports to see the Big Game Live as presented by Arabian Airlines. A montage sequence of Haaland breaking Shearer's record plays out before Jake Humphrey welcomes everyone to this, and I quote, auspicious occasion. Blue flags flying in the background barely covering the now 150,000-seater Etihad, described as being the "true home of High-Performance Individuals".

We're welcomed around this time to the special guests for tonight's showcase, Micah Richards and the newest media golden boy, Jack Grealish. Eeee it's going to be a great day, me donnies can hardly stop shaking, Jack proclaims. A high pitch scream follows that transcends into an uncontrollable fit of laughter. Richards communicates this way as to agree and asks whatever happened to that other team in Manchester. Humphrey says he doesn't know. Nobody knows now but the annals of history.

City triumph 27-0 and Blue Moon rings out over loudspeakers across the land, the newly recognised national anthem of the United Arab Emirates of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

My stereotype for an English young man. I hope his career isn't as short as it seems though.

I actually don't mind him going on the lash, it's literally the only interesting/engaging thing about the whole City treble (hence why everyone is so desperate to focus on it!) and I would’ve absolutely done the same, but at the same time, you just know that if was a certain group of other players doing it, it would very much be being reported in a different way. Hell, even the England players dentist chair debacle from the 90s was treated as a scandal rather than a jolly. He gets away with it 'cos he's a loveable himbo but imagine it was Sterling, or Rashford.

Aye, people who find drunk idiot making fool out of himself on TV remotely funny should probably get back to high school.

He’s a decent player and the poster boy for a generally likeable England squad. Doesn’t come across as particularly sharp but then he’s a footballer so who really cares? He doesn’t spit at people, steal other people’s wives or beat up his girlfriend so for now there’s plenty of other individuals deserving flak before him.

That said he plays for City, which makes it much easier to dislike him irrespective of how much a “top lad he really is”.

The holier than thou attitude from some in here

I would've loved to have gone on a bender with Grealish in my 20's, looks like a fun drunk.

I presume some of you are too young to remember Lee Sharpe, and his frequently irritating boorish behaviour.

I'm not Grealish's biggest fan, but he was brilliant v Real Madrid and scored some important goals v Arsenal and Liverpool, just as City were starting to hit their stride.
