Those apparent delays this morning just sound like Levy holding up the deal. There was the suggestion that Kane wanted it completed in time to play in the Super Cup tomorrow and suddenly there's a few tweaks needed to the contract which probably ends that chance. Couldn't risk the possibility Kane won more trophies on his first day than in his whole Spurs career.

Its very arrogant.. but so what? It’s a non competitive league (even when Bayern try to not win the league like last season, they still win it).
Hey if you're happy being arrogant then go for it.

For what it's worth its not like our league has been much more competitive over the last 5 or 6 seasons.

Its an opinion which I stand by, if that makes me arrogant then so be it.

It has though, hasn’t it. Yes, City have won the league but how many seasons have gone down to the last day? Last season Arsenal led the way for pretty much all the way.

It happened twice in the past 8-9 years in both leagues.

I didn’t realise that. Bundesliga is every bit as competitive as the premier league.
The dynamic of the Premier League during the 2010s is closer to Serie A or the French league in the 90s. It's not competitve per se, it's more that every year you have a set of teams that seem to be around the same level but in reality every year you have a couple that are significantly better than the rest and out of these two one generally beats the other easily.

So what of the bundesliga then? it’s no more competitive than the Scottish league.

What a stupid move.

0 guarantees that Bayern win the CL in the next 3-4 years and the PL record would be worth way more than a few Bundesliga titles...not to mention that he could've had at least a few more options if he saw his deal out.

will he feel home sick after 6 months?
Within a month we will get a "Sun Exclusive" picture of him with a comically oversized sausage and a giant stein of beer with the headline "Bratt's your Lot! - How 'arry is beating the germans at their own game!"

He'll tell us all how welcoming the German fans have been....how he's loving the clean streets...punctual public transport but misses the awld pie and eel shop in the east end!

i mean theres a much higher chance of winning UCL with bayern, especially considering spurs rarely are even in the competition. Then you throw in the fact that spurs rarely even compete in any of the trophy comps it seems, and he will def rack up some trophies with bayern. At some point you would think his competitive nature would show and he'd want to win something, somewhere.

And it is too easy to just assume things will work out and teams would be after him down the line, but you never know. Premier league is a pretty physical league, dbags like carroll out there scissor tackling from behind and not getting even a card from it. No guarantees he doesnt get injured at any point, so cant really just write off a year with spurs. If anything he has waited too long to finally move from that place to somewhere he could actually win something. Imagine if he hadnt signed that last extension he couldve gone to one of the top clubs and absolutely crushed it.

I could not disagree more. Has as much chance of a CL title there as he does at any PL club and I would imagine most professionals would consider league titles to have more value than a poxy goalscoring record. Not to mention that he could have opted to see his deal out only to blow out his ACL and be left with feck all.

The Bundesliga is competitive outside of Bayern unlike the Scottish league and Celtic-Rangers. Now I assume that the focus of your question is on Bayern, the gap between and whoever is second or first isn't that different to the gap between the PL champion and the second team. Bayern are just more consistent on a year to year basis.

Yes.

I also believe the Bayern of this season would be the second best team in the Premier League.
I agree and the bookies will show that Bayern with Kane is second only to City when it comes to odds of winning the CL.

But also "Arsenal led the way pretty much all the way".

Not for as long as Dortmund did.

Fair play to him. Moving to a great club where trophies will be expected. Outside of his comfort zone. Exactly what people have been calling him out on last few years at spurs, that he had no ambition.

And it's embarrassing seeing how some people are reacting just because we weren't able to sign him.

I think Tuchel is a really good manager and with a few signings, they'll be really good in the CL, especially with someone like Kane up top...but there's still 0 guarantee that they'll win it. A lot of great players and teams have failed to win the CL after multiple tries.

If he doesn't win the CL, his stint at Bayern will be regarded as a failure, since he will have thrown the PL record away for a few meaningless league titles...I'd much rather go to United with more of an outside shot at the CL (but still significantly better chances than Spurs), but basically guarantee the PL record.

Not to mention winning the PL. That's 2 meaningful trophies he could have a decent shot at whilst also guaranteeing the PL record. At Bayern it's CL or bust IMO.

Then when the record gets broken, what does he have?

That's an amazing take for me because up until maybe last year no one actually cared about that PL record, not only because these type of things are generally not that valued in nearly all leagues and also because it's not even the English First Division record. That one would have some historical weight but not the PL record and the fact that people somehow ignore Greaves' record is kind of telling.

If he stayed at Tottenham most likely he wouldn’t win anything in his career. That’s just a waste of a career when you are at that level.

I don’t see what the big thing is about the record, yeh it’s nice, but there’s no trophy for that. He will always be remembered as one of the best scorers of the premier league anyway.

Winning the bundesliga is better than not winning anything at all, plus Bayern are always in the race for the CL.
Plus I’m sure he is getting a raise, so it seems like a good move for him.

Thing is ones going on about the PL scoring record, records are there to be broken. He could have broken it and 20 years down the line someone else might go and break it. Then what do you have. Winning medals cannot be taken away.

Correctly. Because Bayern are a fine team and the expectation is that they will perform well this year. It doesn't change the fact that they were terrible last year, and still won the title. Which kind of proves that the Bundesliga is weak.

Since you are bringing odds into it, on Paddy Power right now, Bayern are 3/10 to win the Bundesliga. Man City are 8/11 to win the PL.

In other words, the bookies feel like it is more than twice as likely that Bayern will win the Bundesliga than Man City will win the PL.

Incidentally, the 6th favourites to win the PL (Newcastle) are 16/1 whereas the 6th favourites to win the Bundesliga (Frankfurt) are 100/1!

There are lots of things to like about the Bundesliga - the 50+1 rule chief among them - but there is little point in pretending that the Bundesliga is competitive for Bayern or has any great quality in it. @OverratedOpinion

As long as he settles reasonably well I can see a 40+ goal season from Kane at Bayern in all competitions.

I believe the Premier League is the best league in the world.

I also believe that Terrance Crawford is the best boxer in the world. That doesn't mean Canelo is rubbish or worthy of disrespect.

And unless he beats Greaves we are talking about a record with asterisk. As an example do we consider that United has 20 league titles or 13?

The PL is still the best league in the world and way ahead of the Bundesliga as things stand. The 2017-22 Liverpool team and the current Arsenal (even if they don't win the league in the next 3-4 years, which I find unlikely) will be remembered by way more people than Dortmund or any other team that put the pressure on Bayern on their way to their 10th league title in a row.
