Sad to see him leave the PL more than anything

Spurs are absolutely fecked now. Sold him so late in the window. No real strikers available at the moment and everyone knows they have 100m to blow before the deadline

Stupidest footballer. He simply wasted all these years in Spurs by signing the last contract and the one thing(highest PL goal scorer) which will make him a legend of his country for next few decades he is going to miss by not waiting for one more year.
He should have simply said to levy that he either transfers to one of top 4 clubs in England this summer or he will leave to them in a free next summer.

I agree

Bayern are a huge club don't get me wrong but he could take his pick next summer he would probably get offers from every top club in Europe

A Bundesliga winners medal after giving his entire career to Spurs seems so minor

as one guy wrote on twitter: "Kane greeted at munich airport by thousands of ecstatic reporters and a number of Bayern Fans"
Plettenberg alone counts for around 300 of the reporters. He's gone totally over board during this saga

If Telles joins Munich he would get that medal. It means nothing. He is not going to be a Bayern Munich legend or something.
Kane career is example of how to waste a career.

Thought it was pretty obvious this would go through. Tottenham would never let him go for free. Leaving it until the end of the transfer window is just classic Tottenham.

The goal scoring record was always media driven, also; Kane was never bothered about it.

Will have a chance at the CL every season now, which wouldn't be the case for all Premier League sides outside of City.

rumour has it the long delay was because Chrisitan Ortlepp had chained himself to the landing gear and refused to let go.

Deal is not done anyway. Doc Mull may find out he has grown-in toenails. Or they can't find Wadlstutzen his size. Or he finds out that team initiation rite is, he has to sing in front of all, instead of what they do in the PL, like impregnating a teammates WAG or something

The PL goalscoring record won't make him a legend and will probably be broken by Haaland 5 minutes after he gets it. People keep saying he could wait one more year but that is asking him to take a gamble that he won't suffer an injury and those big clubs will still be there for him with the money. He made a big mistake with the 6 year contract at Spurs all those years ago but that is water under the bridge, he has made a smart choice for himself now and it is just speculation to say he could have done better by staying.

There is some strange bitterness in this thread probably because he isn't signing for us, of course signing for Bayern is a great move for any player a historically huge club with a good recent CL record and a history of trophies.

Yeah I get the league probably isn't the toughest but at the end of the day if he looks back on his career with multiple leagues and cups domestically and a proper go at the CL with a good chance of winning one that would be a great career for anyone.

Exactly the mistake was staying at Spurs, that is the wasted part of his career, not going to Bayern.

He made the right choice. Dont think he was motivated for another year fighting to reach the Europa League.

I disagree. You assume that Halland breaking it is a sure thing. There is no gamble. Spurs won’t allow him to leave on a free. Even PSG who is loaded with money is fretting losing Mbappe on a free. He would have got a PL move this season if he is smart.

I was listening to the overlap and couldn't believe what Neville and Carragher were saying. He has to stay because of the goal scoring record. They were even saying it would be better than winning a league. It's a team game, these individuals records are blown out of proportion.

If not Haaland then someone will break it, records are not why you play the game, especially when it is a team sport. You can again speculate that he could have got a PL move but Levy was adamant about not selling to another PL club, provided he had one foreign club willing to give him a decent fee he could stand his ground.

That's idiotic from them but not surprising because they are all about selling the product.

There would be bitterness if he is signing for a rival English club. I don’t think any United fan would be bitter for Kane joining Bayern.

Not sure about you, but for most English people or English footballers it is a pinnacle.
It is not some random record. It is most goalscored in the country’s top level football history.

I am too lazy to scroll back, but cheers to the many posters who were convinced that there is absolutely no chance, that Kane would move to Bayern.

“Most goals since 1992“ is the pinnacle?

This thread is absolutely insane. He's going to one of the elite super clubs of European football. The way people are talking in here make it seem like he's joining Stockport County.

Football didn't start in 1992, so it's not the most goals scored in English football history. Who cares anyway records come and go, medals last forever.

Feet up at home.
Its absolute bs

Imagine Vardy wanting to exchange his PL medal for the leading goalscorer spot :houllier:
That is entirely what it boils down to. I still think Kane should have held off for 6 or 12 months to go exactly where he wanted but at his age he really does need to get some trophies. If he gets a CL trophy he will have made the correct decision.

Ok Shearer still has the record but that pales into insignificance in my recollection of him he is far more memorable as a smug shit punter.

I call bs. The PL goalscoring record is the pinnacle? You are having a laugh and I would bet the majority of English players would rather win 1 trophy than hold some individual record.
You can call your post as bs as you are assuming that if he remains In PL he is not going to win trophy. He can join any of the top club who has chance of winning trophy in PL and still be the highest goal scorer. It is not mutually exclusive.
