If we put in the kind of performance we seen against Wolves we'll almost certainly lose. Hoping for a significantly better showing from the entire team

    2-0 Spurs.

Yeah, not that confident. Especially after our dire performance on Monday and I think the FA wants to feck us over with the whole VAR penalty issue.

A lot of gloom and doom on here after that one poor performance. Come on guys, it's only Spurs... that too without Kane.

I predict a much better performance and a 2-1 for United.

Bruno and Mount both need to play 15-20 yards deeper today than they did against Wolves. Emerson gets forward so stick Rashford on the left to try pin him back and stick Sancho as a false 9 to find spaces left by Bruno and Mount playing deeper.

Spurs had 70% of the possession away to Brentford so it’s going just going to be a lot of counter attacking for us.. but we seem to do well in those kind of games so I’m quietly confident.

Tempted to stick a tenner on Maddison to score against us.. we always seem to give away stupid fouls around the box in these kind of games.

3-1 Spurs and we’ll be lucky that it’s not more. They are better than Wolves and we are horribly undercooked after another preseason of too much travel.

I think Spurs will give us a lot of space in behind so we need to exploit that. Mount is decent at winning the ball back high up the pitch so as long as our forward line doesn't play as bad as they did on Monday we'll be fine.

Kane was mostly shit against us to be honest.

We need to be harder to beat away from home. Based on that, as much as I'm not a massive fan of it, we could potentially see Bruno on the right, with Eriksen (would have been Mainoo, if fit) next to Casemiro to give us that composure and ability to start transitions. Mount as a 10.

That's something ten Hag used against Madrid. Whilst it was only pre-season, I believe this is something he might be thinking about doing in the tougher games, as we were way too easy to beat away from home last season.

Spurs at 3.0 on Betfair looks great value. We’ve been terrible away under ETH.

I fear we are going to be played off the park. 3-0 Spurs. Get ready for a week of United in crisis headlines and other nonsense.
At least we've got just the story to knock it out of the headlines...

I think we will be better than last week but still not fully there, and we are playing a Spurs team without an identity.

Got a feeling we might see a slightly more 'questionable' line-up today...

    Onana
    Wan-Bissaka Varane Martinez Shaw
    Casemiro
    McTominay Mount
    Bruno Martial Rashford

Hopefully be a bit more solid in the middle and get Rashford down the wing. Could eventually bring on Garnacho, Antony, Eriksen..
Makes sense to have 4 mids away against a top 9 side imo

You wouldn't think this is a United fan site most match days haha.

    So much dread.

Its times like these we all need to remember Roy Keane's wise words.

I hope Rashford will not be at 9 again, we need someone who can hold onto the ball and link with others in the middle.

Conceded 7 against Liverpool.. 6 against City..
    Still cant pass the ball.

Let's see if we actually play any football today or just try to hit them on the counter..
We‘ll press and hit them after we win the ball. And hit them on the counter.

Brentford only averaged 43% possession last year a number of their games had less than 30% or there about possession

And our team has such a well defined identity.

We've looked lost in preseason and last week. If we can avoid our standard misplaced passing that would be a blessing we could maybe build on. How many times did we lose possession last week? Terrifyingly bad stat when we're supposed to be the transitional team.

We will have worked on Monday's problems. Whether that means bolstering the defensive midfield with an extra body or with tactical tweaks I'm not sure. ETH is stubborn and it makes sense to try and make his vision work rather than give up after one match.

The actual problem is that Casemiro is too old to gobble up the yards like he needs to in that formation (hardly anybody could) and Rashford isn't a centre forward. I don't see how that can be tweaked.

We could win 3-0 and some of you would still find stuff to moan about. And the sad thing is, I’m not even exaggerating.
