The team have stuck to the task well but a real lack of quality in possession from us.

Nothing coming off for Garnacho, Hojlund can’t get himself into the game, McTominay not intricate enough.

Dalot has been tidy on the ball and Varane has been positive with his passing on the opposite side although lacks the right weight of pass at times.

Defensively, the sharpness of their wide players is causing a lot of danger for us and Amrabat can’t even close enough to attempt a challenge when they go through the middle. It feels like sooner or later they will get the better of us.

An absolute vacuum of options on the bench to improve things for us.

Maybe Reguilon. Maybe Pellestri. Mainoo into midfield?

Difficult to see where a goal comes from and we will probably need two.
Mctominay has to stay on. If we do get a goal it will be through him. I'd probably push Bruno out wide, switch Antony and Mainoo. We need Bruno closer to goal, he's too deep.

Goes back to the general lack of physicality in the squad, Antony has no strength and speed, Garnacho has the speed but no strength. Rasmus has a bit of both but is up against 2 beast CBs. The team is playing well but the current squad is just not that good. Said this in another thread but apart from Bruno and maybe Rashford, a lot of these players are no different to players at West Ham, Everton, Fulham etc.
That's about right. We aren't getting the best out of the players though, and it's been this way for a while.

I don’t want to pile in on hojlund j can see he’s struggling but there was a time at the end of that half where Shaw picked it up just outside the box looked up and could have put a quick ball in but hojlund was about five yards offside ffs.

I just have to ignore how much he’s being bullied as he’s still young I suppose, but 70 fecking mil

Hojlunds positioning and movement isn’t good enough. Hopefully he learns from this season

Hojlunds been fecked over tbh. Young guy, massive price tag, expected to be the main striker at United.

We've asked far better young players to do far less in the past but expect him to somehow be it?

Nah. Awful signing but not in the sense he's a bad player.

This team needs heavily investing, forget the usual midfield/defence investing we've been crying for, our attack is also very far off competing in this competition against the elite.

our wide players get so wide, which is good...but then have no support. Constantly just relying on individuals to make something happen. Hate our fecking "system"

Garnacho hasnt been very good in the first half he refuses to pass and has continously lost possesion to the first man that challanged him the same way Rashford always does.
He's been useless, so has Antony.

Difference between them and Rashford though, is they actually work hard. Antony in particular has put in some good last ditch tackles.

If Rashford was playing Shaw would be up against it with Mazraoui and Coman.

Their widemen are so fast! They make ours look like plodders. Also the confidence in their intricate passes (most of which hasn't come off I know), but we lack the confidence to even try out some of those passes as shown by Dalot during that last attack.
Yep, Davies has been very impressive in the first half particularly.

Most importantly we haven't conceded yet. Don't know why people are upset. Isn't this how we wanted the game to go? Still a lot of time to grow into the game and score.
    I don’t think you’re allowed to be positive .
I swear there’s a few on here hoping we lose so they can say told you so

Ten Hag has spent £150m on the attack and it's worse than ever

Please explain how and where he could run to make himself available with no other team mates around him to function as a decoy. I'll wait.
Run off the back for a start to open the pitch, instead of jogging along next to Garnacho where all the defenders are. Save you waiting too long

Feel like a midtable side. Hang on till 80' and attack in the last 10' to snatch a winner.
    Finally. Some positive thinking!

We're a bottom of the table side so midtable is a compliment

On second look, Kane's left one on Bruno. HE'S DONE IT AGAIN.

Fecking VAR doesn't even look at it. Also Didi Hamann is a fecking prick.

I'm pretty sure Bayern will do us a solid, but we have to do our part and create at least one chance. No chance the keeper kicks to the ball into his own net and calls it a day.

Not a fan of Dalot at left back, players dropping like flies ahead of the trip to Anfield.

ya, an experienced back up striker with a good work rate would be great in january, even a loan. dare i say i like the sound of werner until may, or the iranian at Porto.

So, if my running count's correct: no Bruno, Maguire, Shaw (probably) against Liverpool.

Garnacho needs help, Mazroui is very good defensively tonight in his defence, even better players wouldn't do anything alone in most of those runs.

Shaw is, as usual in big games, very shy, and quite shite defensively too. One of the big reasons why I will never find him world class are his performances in big games where he is constantly biggest choker.

He's too young to be leading the line for us.
    That's on the manager again.
Partly. Pretty sure he would have wanted Kane or someone of that ilk but the people who do the buying decided some guy at Spurs would say no so didn't even bother trying.

ETH spoke about an experienced striker numerous times so I think he was let down.
