I said relatively early into Amorim's tenure that I would judge him on what I see, rather than what I would like to see.
Some people thought I was attacking him. Not the case. I like the guy and I think he's a very good coach. However, that's not a guarantee of anything at United. A decade of disaster shows that.
Some will point to the underlying metrics being good until recently. However, I remember making similar arguments for Ralf in the early days. Didn't help us against Boro in the Cup or against Watford when we had like 30 shots without winning.
Having been through the boom and bust cycle several times I am not really expecting much. Amorim is determined to live or die by his philosophy. Fair enough. At present there's nothing to make you think it's going to go anywhere. I hope I am wrong.
