Senne Lammens (Royal Antwerp GK)

We just need to go back to basics. Having a keeper that doesn’t make your defenders shit their pants would be a start.

Just command your area, come and claim crosses/corners and don’t allow oppo players to push you around.

Making saves is so year 2000. What matters these days is whether he's a great passer of the ball. If Scholes played today in an ETH team he'll be a GK with Carrick being his no 2. That assuming they have experience in the Eredivisie of course

Oof, that came out of nowhere. Good goalkeeper playing a good season.

Can make a save.

I appreciate it's probably hard to rate a young keeper who has barely played a full season in the Jupiler Pro but any idea what his potential level? I'm assuming we're talking more of a Mignolet than a Courtois? How does he compare to other young Belgian keepers like Penders and Vandevoort? Cheers

Goalkeepers making saves rather than being #10s about to come back into fashion I hope.

If he can command his area, make basic saves and catch then I’m all for him as I couldn’t give a feck if the keeper is prime Scholes with the ball at his feet and far more concerned with what the keeper does with his hands.

Difficult to say. Courtois was the best goalkeeper in the league at 17. No comparison.

I think Vandevoort has a higher ceiling, but has a mistake in him, at this point Lammens is more solid imo. Vandevoort can be bullied in front of goal.

Penders played 2 games before he was sold so no idea really.

Either way, I like him. He has 3 penalties against him and saved 2. He's a big lad, strong and yes, he's fantastic at the ball. Remember a journalist recently saying he's like an eleventh field player.

Funny you mention Mignolet, as he was second goalkeeper behind Mignolet at Brugge, when he was 18-19.

Yeh but can he do a Cruyff Turn?

Has the name of a potentially top United keeper. Bring him in.

Thanks for your assessment. Sounds decent. Slightly off topic but are there any other players in Belgium you think we should target? It seems a good market to me with some bargains to be found.

I’m at the stage where it would be refreshing to see a keeper be a keeper, a not an extension of the outfield players. One that is a really good shot stopper and commanding of his area, doesn’t get pushed around etc. As blasphemous as that may be these days.

Think we were close on Verbruggen so I'm guessing Lammens is somewhat similar?

Anyone sounds better than Bayindir which is a confusing signing to this date.

Whether this guy comes as No 1 or No 2 to compete for the No 1 spot its good.

However, after watching the international tournament, i still like diego costa from portugal but i havent watched him at club level.

I mean I wouldn't mind one who's good on the ball as well as being a solid shot stopper. Turns out Onana isn't either one.

My point is I’d love to be sat here just saying what a great keeper we have. Give me a prime De Gea again who could pull us out of the mud with unbelievable saves and earn us points that way. If they’re good on the ball too then great, but I think most could achieve the simple passes we expect of Onana these days, which is a 5 yard ball to rotate across defence, chipped ball to the wing back or the punt to the CF.

It would be great just to have a good all round goalkeeper again.

The standout player would be Vuskovic at Westerlo. Center back, unfortunately already going to Spurs. 17 years old, scored 6 goals as a defender in 20 games, already 1m93.
Scored this banger this week.

Ordonez at Brugge, Stroeykens at Anderlecht, Karetsas at Genk, Seys at Brugge...

Very young but talented.

Ah nice, thanks. I like the look of Karetsas. Vuskovic is going to be immense. Spurs have done well to sign him and Archie Gray.

And Bergvall.

I wonder what they are pitching to these youngsters to convince them that Spurs is the best move for them. Archie Gray was maybe the most bemusing, considering he’s English and surely would have had every other top English club sniffing around.

It's a pity Kelleher is at Liverpool. He clearly wants to go somewhere to be No.1 but they'd never sell him to us.

I think Costa would be 50/60 million. This lad would be cheap and throwing the cat amongst the pidgins if he’s any good. He’ll push Onana up or out. Either is good with me at this point.

Would rather us sign a

Spurs going back to what made them good and to be fair exciting to watch. They were the PL version of Dortmund for a long time. They don’t have top 4 pressure really and can develop these players for a season or two until it gels. Once it does have a good crack at top 4 and CL later stages for a few years and then sell them on for huge profit or go again with another young player. It’s sustainable. I don’t think we have that luxury, we need to be more careful with the balance

How's Jan-Carlo Simic?
