It’s funny I’ve not looked in this thread all half and the amount of miserable nonsense is incredible. We’ve been absolutely fine, do people just want to whinge for the sake of it?
Was about to post something similar. To have been the better team and 0-0 at half time, I would’ve taken that! Some people just be watching a different game.

Alisson did well to narrow the angle for the Hojlund chance. The moment he took that touch Alisson was exactly where he needed to be.

It was a one on one but there wasn't much to shoot at.
More to do with Hojlund's poor first touch and conviction/pace in that scenario.

Big difference in the aggressiveness of De Ligt, Maguire and Martinez stepping into midfield.

Ugarte and Mainoo been brilliant in MF. Bruno has been very good. Needed Amad and Hojlund to take their chances.

Could have asked for much more tbh.
Great point you’re right they’ve stepped in very well.

I'll say it again, if we had a reliable striker, not a worldy, just a guy who will put 1 in 5 chances away, we'd be a different team.

Amorim's side creates more chances, we just have no one to put them away. And no, Rasmus is not that guy, if he ever will be, its 2+ years away.
That is just so wrong. We have the lowest chance creation in the league during big the last month so no there are not loads of chances out there and a striker who puts away 1 in 5 would be a massive downgrade from Rasmus considering his chance conversion rate throughout his career. Just admit you are a hater and move on.

Michael Oliver doing his best to give them every soft free kick he can, whilst ignoring Hojlund getting man handled every attack

Only been able to listen to the audio commentary (if someone has a working stream link to send I’d appreciate it) but from it (and comments here) seems like we’ve been decent so far.

Liverpool will start the 2nd half with high energy and intensity. Conceded plenty of goals in that period od games recently so not confident for second half. But at least we weren’t battered early.

Dalot on yellow. Perhaps putting someone like Mazraoui there while Amad moves to RWB could be good change?

We can’t score goals unfortunately so not surprised by those few good chances missed. If we failed to score vs Bournemouth, Wolves and Newcastle, hard to see it happening at Liverpool.

Ofcourse you want Hojlund to score and it was a very good chance but it seems like people forget that Alisson is in that goal. Alisson is one of the best in the world and he is one of the best because he saves big chances.
    It was straight at Allison.

The team is night and day with Ugarte. Arguably are most important player these days.

It's a bit annoying that 70% of the play runs through the left, which gives Dalot and Bruno almost all the offensive responsibility. I mean, if we're going to do that we might as well have Amad and Bruno on that left where our better players can cook.

We should be taking confidence from that half and taking something from this game. Just feels like this group can self-implode at any moment though.

    Please prove me wrong lads.

I’d be tempted to sub Dalot, he’s had some good moment but I fear that unnecessary yellow will come back to haunt him.

Incredible how it’s conveniently forgotten that Alisson is one of, if not, the best keepers in the PL

Even contest and we are playing well. Ultimately I still expect a defeat but we definitely aren’t disgracing ourselves like we have done in previous weeks. The one thing I will say is that under Amorim we are miles better in possession

There really is no excuse for that finish. He is under no physical pressure, it's a good angle, he has time to set himself, it's on his favored left side. In a game like this, it can so easily be the difference between points or no points.

The tragic thing is, that our second best option doesn't even get to that chance.
Yep it’s such a poor finish. Rabbit in headlights

0-0 a fair result so far for HT. Neither team in the ascendancy. Both should have scored 1 or 2.

Some decent commitment, concentration and intensity from us in our own half, but no clue what to do in our opponent's. Similar story to other performances against better opposition under Amorim. Able to keep possession better than under ETH, albeit with moments of chaos and the the occasional error - thankful nothing that's cost us so far.

Reckon Slot will have them up the urgency and control in the second half - because they have another couple of gears in them - and get us under the cosh. We're playing about as well as we can other than stringing together killer passes in the final third and actually knowing where the goal is.

If Liverpool get the first goal then I reckon they'll win 2-0 or 3-0. If we get it then it'll be interesting to see if we change our style or try to hold on.

Hojlund needs to really sort his shit out. He's been awful again. Lads in my U14 rugby team are stronger than him.

Really decent first half, few scary moments but battled well, look up for it, kept the ball fairly well and created a few chances of our own.

Bruno’s been fine. Wingbacks not good enough going forward. Amad nowhere to be seen. Hojlund so wasteful.

    Ugarte excellent game.
Bruno's been okay but just unbelievably frustrating. Ugarte was definitely our best player, you're right there.

Have a chance if we play like that again and Liverpool continue to be a little off the pace. Some really positive moments in that half.

We can't afford to wait for Hojlund to come good. We need to invest in a proper striker.

Good performance first half. Thought Liverpool would start like a steam train and try kill us off early but they've looked surprisingly nervous and tentative.

They've always had good 2nd halves under Slot so we need to try get to 60 minutes at 0-0.

We've created a few chances but I have no confidence in us taking any, we must be the worst chance takers in the league. It's said Hojlund is a good finisher but his effort on Allison was terrible - that's got to go low on the slippy surface and he kicks straight into Allison's midriff! Not good enough

Half time commentators basically having a funeral they were so sad Liverpool wasn’t winning. They really serve us some slop on the US broadcasts.

Am sure we've been here before with Hojlund at Anfield. One decent chance, but he's not an exceptional finisher, so wasted. And in these games you're barely going to get a sniff.

Hojlund is a backup striker at best. Can't velieve we spent £72m on this guy.

Decent performance so far but Bruno and Hojlund have me tearing my hair out. I'm not happy with Mazraoui either, he's been shite for a while now.

It’s really shocking seeing people criticize Dalot after this half of football. He’s been one of our best players.

Meanwhile Maz is offering nothing going forward on the right, and his inability to create space for Amad by stretching the play wide is also impeding what Amad can do.

Everything good we did offensively was on the left side and there is a reason Bruno and Dalot are finding a lot of space, and Amad and Maz none. It’s been the case for the past few games.
