It really doesn’t. Surely you want them pushing forward, beating the fullback and getting crosses into the box?The inverted full back thing makes no sense

Our midfield is still getting over run log after his sacking, including today against the mighty Indidi and Winks. Maybe it goes a bit beyond the managers intentions100 per cent. Ten Hag didn't even really play it last season. He left Casemiro isolated due to his mad desire to have two 10s in midfield like a poundshop Man City.
Why didn’t he play Malacia at right wingback even once if he likes his wingbacks inverted?
Dalot was decent 2nd halfYeah, but Dalot can't
Pretty much where I sit with him at the moment too.He talks a good game in the interviews but I'm really not seeing much on the pitch to believe in what he's trying to do with this team
Did he actually want him or is this a club signing forced on him?ok, now im worried.

But he could easily play with attacking wing backs instead of having 5 defenders on the pitch plus Ugarte. That’s why we are so slow building from the back and why we don’t create anything.I completely agree here. I can understand it's hard to keep a cool head when he is the man in charge and we are performing as bad as we are. We probably could have hired a manager to steady the ship and with the talent in the squad we could have gotten positive results on vibes alone etc. But I have believe that the club has decided 343 is the way the club will be going in relation to squad building. So in other words if it doesn't work with Ruben we will have players set for the next manager. He has to have at least a few players bought to suit his version of the 343. With the players he inherited it's more a 5221. His wb's are very important to his style of football and Dalot and Mazraoui do not offer in any way what we need. My main gripe is I just wish he can get the players moving and thinking faster, the patterns are there.
They were done under ten hag this season. The days of conceding 20-30 shots per game are over thank god.
Did you see when Southampton tore us up and should’ve been 3-0 up at half time at OT? How about that rancid match at Fulham where we win off a one in a million deflection from outside the box? The win in Europe against HSBC, well they’re about the level of a mid table Championship club. Sure he’s done it in Portugal but this is the big leagues. Every team, even relegation fodder, are strong, physical and athletic with a plan. I’ve been thinking about this whole ‘this season is a write off narrative’ but if nothing else he needs to show something to the higher ups where they trust him with a rebuild. It’s utterly pathetic and for me it’s 50/50, he could go on to become our saviour but I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if he turns out to be another false hope. That offside winner the first bit of luck Ruben has had since becoming United manager?
It's not just being diplomatic though, there's a lot of truth in it, Hojlund may not be good enough but realistically there aren't many strikers that are going to do a whole lot better with the service the team providesFair enough yes I understand he's being diplomatic but I'm saying that Hojlund just isn't good enough.

If we carry on with 343 he has to be bold and go with Amad and Dorgu as wing backs. Zirkzee and Garnacho as the 10’s and Hojlund as the 9. We play our best football when we have attacking wing backs which is easy to see.
It’s not even a risk for him, we are losing so many games what does it matter?
With the ball maybe. Without the ball he's fecking horrific. It's not just being diplomatic though, there's a lot of truth in it, Hojlund may not be good enough but realistically there aren't many strikers that are going to do a whole lot better with the service the team provides

Exactly, give it a go and see if we get better results, and we’d 100% be a better watch.Exactly this! At least we might look somewhat exciting to watch again!

The Wyscout thing elicited a Marge Simpson concerned grumble from me.
I wouldn’t want to be the person who selected the team today. He’s surely getting a real earful from Amorim after that game. He's absolutely fuming tonight. post match, and in the press conference. Hopefully it's chanelled into something good, he was visibly holding back pure anger I felt.

I interpreted it more like he was calling them idiots for failing to do basic researchDid he said that seriously or was he joking there? If he was serious with that then I'm worried. If this is how we scout our players and how our coach gets to know the players then we have no hope in hell.
