Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach | Thread locked during matches

He got more than a bit lucky tonight it has to be said, Utd were woeful 45-110 until the chaos gods clocked in.

My God what a game. But honestly mate get your shit together. I have a huge soft spot for him but this almost ended in a fecking tragedy. Anyway if this can't lift us nothing will
How is he or any other manager supposed to mitigate so many individual errors? Can you tell me tactically what he did at 2-0 that contributed to their comeback?

Fair question I assume. He really has to work with a lot of crap. Still I feel that the lack of bottle is also something down to the manager. But anyway. Thank God we won and I really hope we kick on from here.

The turnaround came when we ditched his tactics and threw Maguire upfront

His decision to bring an unfit shaw on in the biggest game of our season was mind boggling.. why not just give him minutes vs Wolves.
Because he has to have 5 defenders on the pitch no matter what.

As soon as we went a bit more attacking Lyon couldn’t handle it, he must see that the 5 defender formation isn’t the best approach.

And what about all of the chances we created when we were 1) playing the 3-4-2-1 and 2) playing with intensity?

Just memory wiped because you have an agenda or what?

Instead of dick-riding the manager maybe some of you should give some credit to our players that you constantly slander to defend him, who pulled us out of that hole tonight.

How exactly did he get lucky? Individual errors and lapses in concentration were why we were in extra time to begin with. His sub scored the tying goal. You've been watching the players capitulate like this under his two predecessors so I'd think it could not be more obvious that we have a plethora of psychological issues and have had for years.

Brilliant win, but what happened in that second half? Worrying. No control whatsoever.

Most emotion I’ve seen from him so far. Even he couldn’t keep his cool! Let’s hope this is his turning point. He nearly fecked this game for us second half.

Hes shite. Are you going to come with ‘it was all in the plan to concede two goals to ten men and come back like that’.

Happy we won but no different to the Liverpool comeback under ETH. A fluke comeback doesnt make the manager any good.

I will be very surprised if we manage to blag our way through another 3 matches to win this comp. Cos thats all tonight is, we’ve blagged it into the next round. The cat will run out of lives. I’ll be happy if it doesnt but cant see it

great entertainment but let’s be honest, no way he’ll orchestrate a victory against Athletic who will be far better opponents.

Amorim needs better players next season.

I was calling for his head if we lost but by Christ I’m with him tonight. It’s a funny old game!

Garnacho had a great chance to seal 3-0 and it's game over. And he missed it, because it's 85% chance Garnacho misses.
He can never score that Mainoo goal aswell.
Hojlund as bad as usual.

Harry looks so much more dangerous upfront, really Hojlund should take a hard look at himself.

Lyon didn't deserve to win and got more than lucky with their goals.

Amorim can pull off the miracle and actually win this.

How many posts were there in the match day thread that went something like this when Cherki scored:

'Amorim Out'
'Sack him now'

:lol::lol:

Big night for him. Easily 2-0 up and could have been more, silly goals conceded, didn’t even have a striker he could bring on, and then the fight and determination to come back and win. I’m happy for him, good bit of excitement

My favourite moment was when we trolled them by going 4-2 down

We've beaten better teams than them already this season, and it's knock out football. Anything can happen

Agree that we still need better players obviously

Bilbao needed a dodgy penalty to beat Rangers. This team should beat them.
