“Are you sure this is the way to the greengrocers Ethel?”

For anyone who’s seen the famous Crystanbul image (“you see something new every time”), is the guy with the glasses in the old photo, to the left of Mildred, the dad/grandad of ‘delayed reaction’ guy??

The delayed reaction from the chap in the glasses gets me everytime

I was only a toddler when Munich happened. Matt was still lying critically injured in a Munich hospital when Jimmy Murphy, God rest his soul, cobbled together a team to face Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup. Bill Foulkes, who had been in the stricken plane, skippered that side and in the crowd that night, having made the trip over the Pennines from Huddersfield, was one Denis Law. Sorry the image is so small.

FA Cup semi-final 1965. Law and Jack Charlton mix it up. Brother Bobby is focused elsewhere while Bobby Collins of Leeds tries to stop any further aggro.

September 1973. Alex Stepney beats Peter Shilton from the penalty spot. United lost 1-2 and Leicester did the double having beaten us at Filbert Street only 7 days previously. Stepney scored another against Birmingham but then missed one against Wolves. For part of that miserable season, he was United's joint top scorer.

Denis Law scores the winning goal against City 1966/67 season. Harry Dowd, Alan Oakes, and Tony Book watch on. This game was Alex Stepney's debut for United.

Frank Stapleton scores the winner at Anfield in March 1985. We finished 4th on 76 points. Liverpool came in 2nd on 77 and Tottenham 3rd with 77.A very good Everton team won it with 90 points.

Ah brilliant Moriarty!! Maybe my favourite United goal. Frank signing as United's number 9 for me as an Irish young lad was huge and to see him bullet this one it to beat Pool at Anfield was about as good as it gets.

I don’t have enough likes to post it but the one of the stadium in Ann Arbor, MI vs Real Madrid where most of the stadium is wearing red comes to mind.

Ever heard of the Watney Cup? In 1970, it was a thing. I have no idea why we competed but we ended up in the final and so the journey was made to Derby to see United lose. Actually, we were hammered 1-4. Always gluttons for punishment, we entered again in 1971 and ended up losing to Halifax Town away. It was a foretaste of things to come.
