Ach..away and print yer Shite!

Having re-watched the Penalty shoot out, I realized that this youngster was the only Utd player to face the excruciating pressure of taking a penalty that if he'd missed would have lost the Champions League Final there and then!
Amazing belief and incredible bottle from one so young.
I for one forgive him the indiscretion against West Ham and can only see him going from strength to strength now.

Massive bollocks from Nani and Anderson, in 2 years time they'll both be epic players for us. Imagine a further matured Rooney and Tevez up front with Nani, Anderson, and Ronnie in the midfield with Carrick supplying them...

I felt sure Nani was going to miss his penalty as he started his run up. And then when Cech went the right way it took me a few seconds to realise it had actually gone in. It was a great moment and I was so pleased for him.

Loved his dancing in the guard of honour too. I expect big things from him next year.

I'd forgiven him for the West Ham incident already...he is young, a little naive, and we won the game

That being said, Cech almost saved it, just like VDS almost saved Cole as well

That was a real display of courage, not Terry crying when he missed his peno, at which point nobody had won or lost anything, but you see the English lion sitting on his arse crying, yet the hypocrite media wanking over Terry's courage while saying feck all about that of Nani.

Yeah the fact that Anderson never hit the back of the net before for United, but the lad did, they both did, talk about the future here, Nani and Anderson must be mentioned

hit some massive goals for us this season the boy has. also has scored against aresnal and dippers. and the cl final pk. i will admit, befre the season i was very very skeptical about nani and preferred to focus all on anderson. however, nani has pulled is weight and then some. with added maturity and experience, you'll start to see him release the ball at the right times, and make better decesions bringing teammates in. he's already our best corner taker but there is much more from this lad, i can feel it. character and bollocks mean soo much in football, and these two have that in copious amounts.

He's probably a better player than Ronaldo was at his age; it will be interesting to see if he can improve as rapidly as Ronaldo has done. This is highly unlikely but, with guidance from Fergie and Queiroz, we could have potentially a top class winger. He's got a bit of a hard act to follow in Giggs, though.

That whole affair exposed Wenger's rank hypocracy about violence on the field. Not much of an achievement, mind.
Oh I know they should have has 3 players sent off that day, regardless I'll take the 4-0 win

When he stepped up and Cech got a hand to it there was a chelsea fan sat next to me who thought he'd missed and was up on swinging his top round his head looked aa right idiot. Needless to say when Terry missed i was right in his face.

I've criticised him a couple of times this season for some dodgy decision making and his red card, but I can't praise him enough for that penalty. Like Terry he had the fate and history of his club resting on his shoulders but he didn't bottle it

I always liked him since day one and think he's a fantastic talent. Showed some balls and as for the wrong decision, he's 20 FFS, of course he isnt the finished article, what do people expect?

If you compare his performance when he came on in the charity shield to that in the champions league final then he's come on a bundle

To take that fifth penalty is a credit to him. It really is.

He's improved, will continue to improve. It's all good.

The fans and the club were very disappointed at him after his behaviour against West Ham and he still has the bottle to volunteer for that 5th penalty with all the responsibility on his shoulders. That was very brave of him.

I gotta admit I thought he might miss out because of that sending off but credit Sir Alex for letting the boy make the mistake. The games he'll miss are punishment enough

It was good to see him play after doing more then most people expected this season and again taking that penalty i'm sure all is forgiven

Always said Nani will be an excellent player for us. I've rated him right from the get go, excellent contributions to the team. Has often made the difference in tight games and to finish off his first season with a 5th penalty "everything riding on" penalty. Balls of steel. Expect bigger things next season. This will give everyone a massive boost.

Also, without him, we probably wouldn't have won the league. Remember the Spurs goal at home? It looked like a goal was never going to come. We looked completely bereft of ideas, and Nani popped up with a corker!

He did show some bottle to score it. When he walked up I was thinking Oh shit. Cech was so close to saving it. But Nani held his nerve so fair play to him.

Future looks very good indeed for us:

Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Anderson, Nani.

I agree with this. Terry missed his and immediately started crying. What sort of message did that send out to his team-mates? They needed him to be strong at that moment in time but he bottled it and burst into tears when, at that point, nothing had actually been lost. Nani showed huge courage and complete balls of steel to walk up and take that penalty, knowing that if he missed then we would have lost it. He's going to be immense for us in the future along with the likes of Anderson

Without a doubt Fergie bought two future greats when he splashed cash on Anderson and Nani
It's still early days but i can't help but be excited about the potential these two possess. I was very proud of Anderson and Nani when they both went up to take a penalty in that situation. It said a lot about their mentality and it's well worth splashing a bit extra on players with both the talent and confidence.

definitely. I think Anderson especially is going to be top notch. Once he starts knocking in some goals for the team, he will be amazing.

Was a bit surprised when Fergie sent him on with a few minutes to go, as he must have done it for the penalty taking duties. a 19 year old kid only on the pitch a few minutes. Must normally be a great penalty taker in training.

Puts into perspective how Anelka bottled it, as he was whinging about not being on the pitch long enough

All four of our signings did what they had to (and all scored their pens). feckin hell, oh sorry.

We have a great future given that all four will improve with us.

fairly typical of the media reaction that as far as i've seen, all the hacks have been praising Terry's courage for stepping up to take one (never mind the fact he bottled it and brought about the 'slip' with poor technique) and the absolutely gigantic cojones Nani and Anderson showed (and Kalou to be fair to him) have been ignored.

He didn't look so confident though, felt he got a bit lucky with his kick.

On a fine sunny day Cech would've probably saved it.
VDS could've saved both of Lampard's and Cole's by the same logic. Penalties are penalties, you either score them or don't. The fact that arguably the best goal-keeper in the world couldn't save Nani's peno despite going in the right direction coupled with the immense pressure on the young lad make it all the more impressive.
