Best and Worst Comedians

Who is your favourite comedian and why? And the worst you've ever seen?

I was thinking of this after a small stand-up cabaret I went to on Friday where one of the acts was so catastrophically bad I felt like carrying him off the stage in a show of sympathy. He was this small young ginger bloke who feigned autism, and his entire act seemed to consist of using the word 'cnut' in the punchline, which turned the audience against him from the start.

When it became clear that no one was laughing, he threatened to rape a woman in the audience if she didn't laugh. He then got out a keyboard and sang a song called 'you're a cnut' towards one of the hecklers. After a few more terrible jokes about sucking cock he finished with a series of keyboard sound effects reconstructing Diana's car crash and her life slipping away on the life support machine. The bloke next to me threatened to "throw a fecking pint glass in his face" if he didn't get off the stage.

After another pop at the audience, he leaves, and from nowhere Bill Bailey walks out with his guitar completely unexpected and gives the funniest 15 minutes of stand up I've ever seen. The contrast was embarassing.

Any similar experiences Caftards?

Pavlov's Cats:
Day One: Rang bell, cat fecked off. (Oh dear)
Day Two: Rang bell, cat went and answered door.
Day Three: Rang bell, cat said he had eaten earlier. (cheeky bugger)
Day Four: Went to ring bell, but cat had stolen batteries.
Final Day, Day Five: Went and rang bell with new batteries, but cat put his paw on bell so it only made a thunk noise. Then cat rang his own bell.
I ate food.

Is he the guy that does that "Little Tortilla Boy" movie trailer joke? Because I found him mildly amusing when I saw one of his standup shows on Paramount last time I was in the States. Not amazing, but fairly amusing.
No. I don't think that was him.

Dog Bites Man was a fantastic show. Shame it only lasted a few episodes. How Mencia still gets to suck ass on air and that show gets cancelled is beyond me.

Billy Connolly. I don't seem to get bored of his rants.

Carlos Mencia is fecking awful.

Always liked George Carlin, and the fact that he could use the word feck every 2 seconds

Mencia is horrible. He's just Bernard Manning without the comic timing.

Bill Bailey does great comedy cabaret. Prior's old stuff is still as funny as anything I've seen.

Best = Billy Connolly

Worst = Tommy Tiernan

I think PJ Gallagher is going to end up my favourite though.

Nah, thats Pablo Francisco. Very funny man ... but limited material. The Tortilla boy sketch was great.

Funniest - Bill Hicks, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, All of Monty Python
Least Funny - Carlos Mencia, Dane Cook

I always thought you were more of a Bernard Manning man, Elvis?

Russell Howard, Ricky Gervais and Frankie Boyle are all quality.
