And theres no way you could not put Dellas in your team. Dellas in fact is overall the best defender in the tournament. thats a fact.

It was really hard to choose between Carvalho, Dellas and Nesta. Nesta IMO is still one of the best CB of the tournament although Italy never made it pass the group stage. Italy would have been out long before the final game if not for the stout defending of Nesta. Carvalho came in as the replacement of Couto after the first game and I thought he did really well. Non-compromising and hard on the tackle. His performance in both the champions league and euro 2004 caught the eyes of many big clubs. Even Quieroz think he is MUQ and recommended SAF to buy him. Greece IMO did really well as a team. No individual brilliance. Just really good organization and team effort. Greece attacked and defended as a whole unit. Dellas was great, but he got the support of the whole team when defending. So for me its Carvalho and Nesta.

I must admit, i do agree Dellas and Carvalho stood out to be the best. Dellas is given that bit extra credit because he was doing the organising.

Baros' all round game is poor. He's very effective at playing on the last man and running onto and finishing through balls from Nedved, Rosicky and Poborsky. For me, Larsson and Rooney's performances were a lot more accomplished. Its a bit like four years ago, at Euro 2000. Despite finishing top scorer, not everybody would have put Milosevic in their team, preferring to pair Henry with Kluivert. Or in 1994, Oleg Salenko would certainly not have been an automatic 'dream team' pick just because he was top scorer or thereabouts.

Or because he was the best forward in the tournament.

Including Rooney and RVN.

RVN was shite in a couple of the games and yet still makes some peoples teams.

8 goals for Baros, some would say he could be player of the tournament.
