    Know the opposition

Crystal Palace Football Club (nicknamed CPFC, The Glaziers and The Eagles) are a professional football club based in South Norwood, London. Crystal Palace were founded in 1905 at the site of the famous Crystal Palace Exhibition building by the owners of the FA Cup Final stadium, who wanted their own team to play at the historic venue. When Crystal Palace were founded, they turned to one of the biggest clubs in the country at the time, Aston Villa, to seek advice. Villa helped the club in a number of ways, not least by donating their kit. As a result, Palace's colors were originally claret and blue shirts paired with white shorts, socks tending to be claret. They kept to this formula fairly consistently until 1938.

The club initially played their home games at the FA Cup Final stadium which was situated inside the grounds of The Crystal Palace, but the First World War saw them forced to move out, and they enjoyed a number of seasons at both the Herne Hill Velodrome and The Nest. Although Crystal Palace have never won a major trophy, they have played in the First Division for the majority of their existence, finishing 3rd once, and losing the 1990 FA Cup Final to Manchester United. Crystal Palace play their homes games at Selhurst Park, and share sporting rivalries with South London neighbors Milwall, former tenants Charlton, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Palace haven't got a single point. They haven't even scored yet.

Please PLEASE don't slip up. I can't be doing with that on my mind over the international break!

Should be looking for 4 goals here minimum. Chase that goal difference.

We'll go 5-0 up and then ruin it all by conceding in the final few minutes so that nobody feels too good about it. Standards.

We should just rest Fellaini/Matic for this one plus Herrera/Carrick need game time.

Bailly needs a bit of a kick up the arse and Lindelof looked good enough he should be fine against Palace, defiantly our best defender against CSKA.

Mkhitaryan looks a completely different player in a 352.

Really should be a routine 3-0 or 4-0 for us. No point to rest anyone we need to grab the win before the break.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Bailly - Smailling - Young
    Herrera - Matic
    Mata - Mikhi - Rashford
    Lukaku

Playing away Wednesday night and then again at 3pm on Saturday seems rather unfair.
Surprised we didn't rest Lukaku for 30 minutes tonight.

Has Martial been called up to the French squad? If that is the case I'd rather he take a knock and rest for two weeks.

Yeah its so stupid. Then whats the use of playing in the UCL instead of Europa? Its the same shitty two days.

I hate games where we're expected to steamroll the opposition. This game provides the perfect narrative and backdrop for Woy to get a "shock" result.

0 goals, 0 wins, CP coming to Old Trafford. Their keeper is pretty much guaranteed to have a worldie, just hope we put them to the sword nice and early. These are the kind of games Lukaku was bought for, hope he can deliver again.

3 pm Saturday again? Feck off.

Why are Liverpool playing on Sunday? Could've had that 12:30 Saturday instead of Huddersfield - Spurs which nobody's going to watch anyway. Put them at 4 and move us to Sunday. Fecking easy.

I think this would be the case last season. Its a bit different this season. Scoring early is key to ripping them apart.

Absolute banana skin of a game! Everyone excepts us not just to win but hammer them. Huge potential therefore for an undesired result!

    I'll be happy with 1-0.

They havent even scored yet and they have conceded the most with 13 in 6 games and people here are saying they will be happy with a 1-0. And we are at home. SMH. If we cant score at least 3 past this lot, then thats not good.

Let's hope we're not looking for someone to come off the bench and change the game.

Against Crystal Palace at home, not so sure it will be Smalling with Jones out. Could be Lindelöf again or even Blind.

    Mata will score
I fancy him to score as well

This won’t be the cricket score everyone says it needs to be, Head says 2-0 Mata and another (possibly an OG or an unfancied goal scorer like a defender....or Lingard)

Is it worth trying Mkhitaryan on the right and Mata as the 10 in this game? Palace have had poor results but theyve played well in most of their games. Benteke will be a handful as will Loftus-Cheek.
