very much yesterday's line up with falcao coming in for wilson.

want to put in herrera, reckon it's going to be either him or mata to get a start.

hoping for a cameo appearance from either one of di maria, shaw or rafael.

We should be beating this lot easily, we've all watched Villa a few times this year I imagine? I don't trust them to put in a good performance, I think this could be another Hull type of game where we dominate the ball.

Villa are the type of side to lose to the majority of the shite in the Premier League yet show up when the big boys come round.

Hope Aston Villa drop off as they usually do and hope Benteke has an off day.

valencia can play both RB and RM. Carrick & Herrera to drop back in case Valencia out of position since both MF postioning is quite sound. Di Maria to cause overload on left side

    Prediction:0-2 Rooney, Mata

This would be a good game for Falcao to start instead of Wilson, so he can be match ready for the Christmas rush.

Assuming the same players from last match are available:

    De Gea
    Jones -- Carrick -- Evans
    Valencia -- Herrera -- Fellaini -- Young
    Rooney
    Van Persie -- Falcao

Not an ideal team, and I'm not a fan of the back 3, but we've got no choice until the return of Rafael, Rojo, and Shaw. We win 1-2, Van Persie with both.

LvG is yet to be convinced that Falcao is more than a 20 min man..

The game is a week away, he might be by then. But if not then I'd put Rooney up front and Mata behind the strikers.

    Hope to see :
    -------------The Wall------------
    Rafael---Jones---Smalling---Young
    --------------Carrick--------------
    -----Herrera--------Rooney-------
    -------------Mata-----------------
    ---------RVP--Falcao-------------

could easily be a 3-5-2 with Carrick dropping down and Rafa and Young pushed forward.

Subs : Fellaini for Mata, Rooney goes up
------ Di Maria for Falcao(after he gets a hat-trick) pushed rooney even further up
    ----- Valencia for Rafael

I wont be sad if Valencia plays instead of Rafael either.
Hoping to see Di Maria comes in from the bench. About to give Falcao a start. Same with Herrera. Felaini had a good second half against pool but i want to see Herrera for 90 minutes now.

Any known reason why Herrera is not starting for last 2 matches?
Does he not fit the philosophy of the day?

Don't think he fits the philosophy of us having a decimated defence. Get some stability there and he should be playing or at least get Blind back.

Yea. I'm slightly worried by the duo as well.
But at the end of the day they lost again and prior two wins they were in pretty bad form. We should score a few against them so even if they do get their goal from conter attack we should outscore them.

That is really good team but i can see Di Maria coming back and he will definetly start in that case.
I'm hoping he's back but i see no need to rush him in really. Rooney did well yesterday playing deeper so either Fellaini or Herrera could start with him and allow Di Maria to come back gradually without risking him getting injured again. Given our luck at the minute with them i'd be inclined to sub him on for 25 mins. No point risk him when it was a hamstring injury. feck that going again and him being out till after Christmas.

Hope that we’ll go for another victory, but we’ll have to raise dramatically our level to be better away from home, when we have been absolutely poor recently. Unless we get Shaw back (needs two weeks after his recovery) we’ll play 3-5-2 again, struggle against a mid-table team and rely on our individualities. Anyway, it’s always difficult playing with so many players out of position.

Still not the time to rest player as we’ll have 6 days before the next game against N’castle at home when we can change a bit. Rafa, Shaw, Di Maria, Herrera, Januzaj, Fletch will all be fresh for this.

Herrera to start please. And if we will go with 2 strikers, hope to see Falcao partners RVP for full 90mins.

Is there a hope that we don't see Evans again?

Surprised to see so many going for three (five) at the back!
Still think we look shaky as feck with that setup.
I would be much more comfortable with 4-4-2 (diamond) than 3-5-2. (Even though Valencia had a stormer in that setup last night)

I'd consider De Gea in goal...

    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Young

    ----------Carrick-------------

    -----Herrera---Di Maria-------

    ----------Rooney------------

    ------Van P-------Falcao----

(I know I know, "we'll get killed on the counter and so on and so on"...;))

I always end up benching Mata, even though I love the little fella!

Wilson, Adnan and Fellaini/Mata as subs.
(Fellaini always sucks ball first half, so might as well let him sit that one out )

Would consider Rafael in for Valencia, all though that would be rather harsh after Valencia latest performace.

Evans looks finished as far as I'm concerned (but he's come back for a couple of decent spells before - so who knows..)

I think if Rafael is back fit, LVG will play 4 at the back. He did that last time when Rafael return from previous injury. So i think he'll bring back to the diamond this game. Di Maria i doubt we'll start, i think LVG will give him a 20 min game so he can stretch his legs and ease him to game fitness. Herrera needs a start, every time he comes on the ball moves around with more purpose then. Falcao should start but LVG seems to thinks he's not ready to start, so again i can see him benched! Blackett will play i reckon, hasnt seen him play in awhile so i got a feeling he'll slide in there.

    DDG
    Rafael Jones Blackett Young
    Carrick
    Felliani Herrera
    Mata
    RVP Rooney

Sub: Lindergaard - Evans - Valencia - Fletcher - Januzaj - Di Maria - Falcao

Probably our strongest team. Could switch Valencia with Rafael, but Valencia deserves to keep his place after a great game against l'pool. Really hope that Herrera starts this match instead of Fellaini, it goes so much quicker with him and he's better at passing the ball forward. Falcao looked fresh when he came on against pool, so he should probably start instead of Wilson.

Think we need to bin off this 3-5-2 it isnt working. In most games we've played with it the other side have had 4+ good opportunities to score, and have scored. Whether the players dont get it or what it isnt working.

Just go back to 4-4-2 and keep the run going. Players should be oozing confidence etc, and not needing to worry about shape. Guess the only positive is it does suit Young and Valencia if Shaw and Rafael are still out.

Positionally the 3-5-2 scares me as I dont think our players have a clue how to play it yet. There is far too much space and ease of which the opposition creates chances is ridiculous
