Yep, he was brilliant tonight, great runs and picking out delightful through balls. Slowly looking like he’s getting back to his pre injury level.

Unlucky not to score, I’m sure that one Pogba blocked would’ve at least stung Reinas gloves let alone go in.
I think as long as Solskjaer continues to instruct him to stay wide and/or deep (as he clearly is at the moment), we won't see the unstoppable running forward Rashford to the same extent we did just before his injury. But we will get to see the crafty passing creator Rashford instead. Those who watched him from the U16s will remember that this was the player he was originally expected to be, until he sprouted and suddenly got really fast.

I'm sure he would prefer to be allowed to run the channel and attack the goal, but Ole has clearly decided to have Bruno and Rashford creating and Martial and Greenwood finishing, and it's working. He's a devastating passer when he turns it on.

We're good and the players themselves know it. They are playing with confidence and fierce competitiveness. Bruno deserves so much credit for our revival but also Pogba is vital. Matic is crucial too and then the forwards are especially Greenwood as of late. You forget about the defense when out attack is this good.
I can't wait to watch us play again. Looking forward to the better teams

Can you keep this positivity and deliver results for the rest of the season please mate.
Whenever I miss united for the missus we win. It’s actually spooky now....but at least I’ve made £50 out of it tonight

He's potentially got a great future at the club, and having better players in the squad will lead to him having to improve and raise his own performances. We've lacked competition for the starting 11 for so long. This is a good thing for the club. Injuries will happen over the course of a season, so he will still get chances. It's important he makes those chances count. I really like him.
Spot on, he strikes me as the type to be motivated by his current situation and see the bigger the picture.

None of our players should be referring to us as "Manchester",,,,,
I like it. It shows that there’s only one real club in Manchester. Ronaldo did it too.

Pogba is a 90s baby, he grew up with “Manchester” dominating. He probably didn’t even hear about City til the takeover.

Even when Fernandes is poor, he's still the most important player in the game.

The tempo he sets is what's making the difference from the first half of the season. Relatively little has come off for him, but even so it's forcing United up the pitch and Villa into rushing things.
    Agreed.

Why not? Pundits here in South America always referred to us as "El Manchester". It is only since Tevez (roughly) that they started saying "El United"/"El City" and even then when someone says Manchester it is given for granted it is us.

There's a tonne of clubs called X United, only one proper Manchester :keano:

Not our best game and we finish 3-0 away, great job done by the team and Ole in managing their playing time, we do drop 2-3 gears when bruno gets subbed though..

European all call United Manchester, nobody knew of City. It’s a good sign. It means Pogba is a fan. And a big one.

I know. It's just I'm sure I've heard City's players do it too regarding City. So I don't want want them spoken of in the same way! These new baller kids need to have "United" put back on the map as opposed to growing up only seeing City play the world's prettiest football and prior to this season smashing records.

Does my nut every time even though everything you all said is true.

He seems a little burnt out to me. It can't be an easy burden to bear, professionally speaking, when people expect you to single handedly save your shit team from relegation.
It's actually good that he dipped in form, because the hype was driving his speculative value too high. Coupled with Villa relegation and Covid it means we can place a bet on him for a relatively low price.
Don't be mistaken by his late form, the guy is a hell of a player.
I think he's almost certainly carrying an injury or two, but because they're in dire straits, they're plastering him up to play every game

Oh please! They're all expected to create and to finish as well.

Don't blame Ole for Rashford not finding the net. He's just going through a period of poor form in front of goal, and I feel because of that, his confidence to drive at goal as he usually does instinctively has taken a bit of a hit. He's doing everything else right, and as you say, he is passing well, so the rest will come.

3 goals and another clean sheet whats not to like? Seen a post here about being the first team to win 4 games in a row by 3 goals as well!

Pogba kind of takes a step back, and is controlling the game so well with Bruno.Pogba seems to appreciate how good Bruno is, and seems willing to let him have centre stage. Then when Bruno went off, he came more into the attacking third. I really believe that if he stays Pogba and Bruno could really dominate midfields next season.

    A really good performance tonight,

Easy in defence, controlled in midfield, creative in attack.

I would have liked for us to push for more goals, but at 3-0 it was so easy.

Agree with the assessment that even when Fernandes is a little off, he's still playing forward passes and making Villa work defensively. He's a great player.

Shaw was in acres all game and should have done better with final ball, but we done more than enough. Really enjoying Greenwood at the moment, the boy is deadly

I'm not blaming anyone for anything. Please don't turn this into some caf flame thing. I'm a huge Rashford fan and a huge Ole fan. I'm analysing what's happening on the pitch. Yes, I think Rashford is a touch rusty generally. But it's notable that his creative game looks as good as ever, and it's his running and finishing that aren't as prominent now. His starting position is also unequivocally deeper and wider. That is because Ole has clearly instructed him to play as more of a creator and less of a finisher since football returned. As he shakes off the rust I'm sure we will see the goals pick up again, but, as I was careful to say in my original post, probably not to the same extent. The focus of his game in the current set-up is more about creating chances. That is fine and good. I think it is working.

Ok - you're not blaming Ole, but it does sound like making excuses for Rashford's goal scoring form.

Do you really choose to insist that Ole, that goal obsessed striker who's been consistently bleating on about how our forward players (particularly Rashford and Martial) should take up goal scoring positions in the box more, shoot on sight more, and look to add scrappy goals to increase their goal tally, suddenly decides to tell one of his 3 forwards not to focus on scoring but be a creator?

For clarity, this Ole referenced below?
    https://www.manutd.com/en/amp/news/detail/ole-gunnar-solskjaer-clear-message-to-his-strikers

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants his strikers to go for goal, adopting a similar shoot-on-sight policy to the one he had in his playing days.

As I said, Rashy is just suffering from a dip of form, he'll be fine, but it's highly unlikely Ole has told him to ease up on goals to become a creator. All of our forward players are tasked with creating and scoring goals

It's right there in front of you on the pitch. I guess if you don't see it then we'll have to agree to disagree. Couldn't be clearer to me.

And again, not 'making excuses' because I don't think it's a bad thing. He's showing how incredibly effective he is as a playmaker. More key passes than Bruno since the return.
