Taking the next corner instead of Jones!
Read the post. There's a polarisation of views. Some say he was great, others that he was shit. One camp or other must be reacting with a bias. But the fact that NEUTRAL commentators are praising him tells you which way the bias lies.
Like the "neutral" voters in the LvG out poll having our best interests at heart no doubt … get real!

Worth noting we lost defensively solidarity after Tofu want off, but it doesn't matter because De Gea is amazing and Martial is just out of this world- his future is bright.

My happiest night post Fergie. A much as I want LVG gone I have to say he got everything absolutely right today, even shockingly got the subs spot on.
P.S Mods won't you consider allowing Match Day newbs post in the Post Match thread too?

That was brilliant, a complete rollercoaster in true United fashion. Martial and De Gea are worth their weight in gold, both of them deserve to win Player of the Year really.

First half was great, really liked the formation and the attacking players looked very lively. We rode our luck a bit in the second half with Lukaku's misses, but they never should've had a penalty and it was all worth it for that winner.

he should have been off. terrible from him.
From Barkley? No way. He could have gone on to score there for a team that is like 11th in the league and unlikely to win anything for years. Tensions are high in the last few minutes of an FA cup final and for a young guy to get mad at someone robbing him of that opportunity is not that irrational and certainly does not deserve a red. Herrera, in my opinion, was worse than him by reacting like that and for the shirt pull in the first place.

Most exciting game in ages. Everyone was good. Rooney adn Fellaini were at their best for months. martial, Rash, Lingard (even witht he por shooting), DDG, etc. Only maybe the defence weren't at their best. Great team performance!

Might be me but I thought Fellaini played well. Carrick looked like he needed a sub to me.
Fellaini was monumental today and I agree Carrick needed to come off instead, but Herrera was brought on at the right time and got the job done both on Barkley and on the Martial goal.

I love how Murphy was saying how pathetic it was Herrera fell over at Barkley's kick. If the roles (or nationalities, I should say) were reversed it would have been a red cardable offence no doubt!

As much as I love Carrick, and he's one of my favourite United players of all time, I think it's time for him to go.

What are you talking about? Scholes once tried to hit out at Alonso (I think during a scrap in midfield) when Utd played Liverpool. Completely missed hitting him but got a straight red for his action. What on Earth are you prating about Barkley being young and robbing him of an opportunity. It's a straight red.

Very hard to prove that Barkley rolled over like that intentionally to kick at Ander when he was blatently dragged him down. I think it was the right decision to book him for getting up so aggressively and getting into Ander's face but def not a red card.

Scholes threw some kind of mma style spinning punch at Alonso I think, he always had a hair trigger of a temper on him that was laughed off due to his class:lol:, he had to go for violent conduct that time.

Huh? He intentionally fouled him to stop the counter attack (which happens in every game of football). How is that worse? Barkley literally kicked him.

He barely kicked him, his boot barely clipped him and Herrera acted like he'd been shot. That is the epitome of pathetic.

The posted gif ends too soon. It was a real, obviously intentional kick from Barkley, from the second attempt (after the first one had missed), with his studs landing on Herrera's hip eventually. He was provoked of course, but its a sending off offence. A classical case of what should be a yellow card for the perpetrator and a red for for the retaliator.
