Cannot imagine ETH will drop Bruno for this despite the sentiments expressed here but the more overtly physical challenge Everton present makes me think Eriksen could be sacrificed to pair Casemiro with Fred or Scott and give us more control in midfield. Malacia has played his way out of the side in his last 2 starts so Shaw will get a turn until his newfound commitment to fitness is tested by Christmas Pudding. If the front 3 is not Rashford, Martial and Antony ETH needs to be sacked.

Nervous about this one. Obviously more nervous about how the atmosphere and possible intensity might affect our players and it'll be interesting to see if we've moved forward mentality since last season's abysmal performance there.

Would like to see Sancho dropped and Rashford, Martial and Antony as the front three with maybe Ronnie coming on as a sub.

What do you mean? Imo Elanga is better in defence. Far better than Sancho but also better than Antony. However he is not good enough going forward.
Why is Elanga better than Antony defensively?

Curious as to why you think that as I’ve been pretty impressed with Antony’s workrate at both ends tbh

So select a winger who isn’t good going forward but good defensively . I think you’ve mistaken playing City last week with Everton this week

I think Elanga hasn’t been good going forward, but really good in his defensive work.Antony showed some good spirit so to say in the first games, but was poor defensively agaisnt City and I think both him and Sancho (who was worse) deserve to start on the bench.

Good point, and maybe I am. But I also think there should be consequences for a poor performance.

I like this. But I will be surprised if ETH drops both Bruno and Sancho.

I don't trust the players to work hard enough to win this one. Too many of them in the last two games just did not make the sprints needed to press the opposition. I find it incredible and it makes me extremely annoyed

    Drop Bruno please.

    Dalot - Lindelof - Martinez - Shaw
    Eriksen - Casemiro - McT/Fred
    Antony - Martial - Rashford

If you wanted to make an example out of players for their performance against City you'd have to drop the entirety of the team.

True but there were a couple extra poor. I would drop Malacia, Sancho, McT and maybe Anyony. Would like to drop Bruno as well but that would be to many changes.

Why would you drop Antony though? He was the best of a bad bunch in midfield or attack. He worked hard, scored a great goal, kept the ball well while the others kept giving it away.

Fred has been good in his last couple of cameos IMO. He deserves to start.

The huge break for the Queen/Internationals + the Europa league being what it is (a distraction) and then the mauling by City has totally disrupted the momentum the team was building.

With the WC coming up its going to be a very stop start league...as such I have zero clue as to what to expect tomorrow.

He was better than some others but I don’t think he worked hard in the defence, nor pressing well enough. For me he has been a bit underwhelming so far, although I admit it was a great goal.

This is a must win game. Expect a better performance compared to the Europa.

Let's see if EtH is willing to drop either Bruno or Eriksen and glean lessons from previous away day debacles

I’m just waiting for that 1 game where we blow the opposition away. After every bad game/performance I always feel like the manager will bollock them and then they’ll come out in the next game all guns blazing but it never happens. Anyway I want us to try a midfield 3 of Fred, Casemiro and eriksen. With a front 3 of rashford, martial and Antony. I think that will give us the most balanced team. Also means we can play more of a 4-3-3 system. I know it ain’t gonna happen though because Bruno never gets dropped.

Weird time for kick-off on a Sunday.
I was thinking the same. Is this gonna be a new thing this season or is it just a one off? I guess it beats playing early when we’ve just had a Thursday game.

Ugh, I fecking hate games at Goodison. They're almost invariably miserable.
their fans aren't much better! Always remember they being the first to bring a Munich 58 flag to OT when I was a teenager

I asked about this: seems it was slated at BT's lunch time game but seems whoever selects games for them is as daft as some of their pundits and didn't realise we were in the Europa which meant not playing Saturday. Sky already had the Sunday afternoon games... so here we are.

I suppose it works out quite nicely for those watching in Oz and the Far East...
