    Galatasaray Spor Kulübü, also known as Galatasaray AŞ in UEFA competitions, is a Turkish professional football club based on the European side of the city of Istanbul. Galatasaray was founded in October 1905 by Ali Sami Yen and other students of Galatasaray High School (a high school in Istanbul which was established in 1481) as a football club. Ali Sami Yen became Galatasaray SK's first president and was given the club's membership number "1". The team's first match was against Cadi-Keuy FC and Galatasaray won this match with a score of 2–0. There were discussions about the club's name, in which some suggested Gloria (victory) and others Audace (courage), but it was decided that its name would be Galatasaray.

    Since there weren't any other Turkish teams, Galatasaray joined the Istanbul League that was consisting of English and Greek teams in the season of 1905–1906. With their first championship title they won in 1908–1909, they heralded the beginning of Turkish football history. While football in Turkey began to fully develop, Galatasaray won ten more Istanbul League titles until 1952. Upon the initiation of professional football in 1952, the first professional but non-national league of Turkey, Istanbul Professional League, was played between 1952 and 1959. Galatasaray won three of these seven titles. Türkiye Profesyonel 1. Ligi (Turkish Super League today) formed in 1959. This is the top-flight professional league in Turkish nationwide football, and the most popular sporting competition in the country. Galatasaray joined all seasons and won 23 league titles since then. Internationally, Galatasaray has won the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup in 2000, becoming the first and only Turkish team to win a major UEFA competition.

    The club has a long-standing rivalry with Istanbul teams, namely with Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe. The derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe is dubbed the Kıtalar Arası Derbi (English: Intercontinental Derby) due to the location of their headquarters and stadiums on the European (Galatasaray) and Asian (Fenerbahçe) sides of the Bosphorus strait in Istanbul. The club plays its home games at Rams Park in Seyrantepe, Istanbul.

    Must win game and will be more than happy with scrappy or lucky Man United 1-0 win. Galatasaray have the advantage playing at home and have the extra rest having played yesterday (won 4-0)

    I'd play the same lineup as we did today, except maybe bring in AWB for Dalot.

    We've got quite the daunting task now, needing all 6 points, and I just don't think it's realistic. I think we draw this one and seal our fate of going out in the group, which is pretty pathetic.
     
    Hojlund in for Martial as it's away to Galatasaray which is a surefire ground Martial would shrink in. Hope Hojlund is fit.

    Midfield and 3 behind the CF should stay as is today. Tough ask for Wan Bissaka vs Dalot. Dalot was excellent today, but will be up against Zaha who AWB would be better for.

    Must win though.
     
    It won't happen but I'd love Shaw to play at centre back. I just think our build play lacked balance today, and I think Shaw playing centre back would allow us to play from the back better.

    Other than that, I pretty much expect the same team. Maybe Hojlund for Martial if he's fit.

    Rashford is disqualified and won’t play for sure. Antony or Pellistri down the right. And hopefully Rasmus will be fit as well

    I think Martial deserves to start and this is coming from somebody who thinks he should have been sold years ago.

    Sure. He is comfortably team’s top scorer in ECL this season. 5 champions league goals already
     
    How good have Galatasaray been at home this season? Its been a troublesome visit for many teams over the years
     
    Lot of people are expecting Mainoo and Shaw to start. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. Lengthy lay off- So I guess they will take it light.
     
    Struggling to buy a win in the CL. Our only victory has been at home to Copenhagen, and that was a close shave after Onanas last min penalty save.

    So, I don't hold much hope gala away. 2-1 gala.
     
    I expect us to win. Galatasaray at home in Europe aren't the force they once were.
     
    Must win for us, but I feel the odd really is against us this game: suspension, injuries, away from home.

    You might be right about Mainoo but Shaw is vital to the way we play. This is a must win game so there's no way he doesn't start.

    Bench is gonna have Amrabat and Hannibal as our most advanced non-youth players. Donny isn’t registered.
     
    Even if we do win it, it'll surely be much more complicated than it should, as has been the case with us in CL this season.

    Didn’t think Lindelof was poor at all today. Thought he was quietly very good. It was his beautiful pinged pass from left to right that set Rashford away for the opening goal.

    We’ve kept a fair few clean sheets lately. I wouldn’t mess with the defence right now. So many injuries elsewhere, I feel we need consistency at the back.

    Lose and we’re out of the CL — I don’t really think we have a choice
     
    We'll lose this one for SURE !

    We are usually poor away from home.

    We lose, and we are away from Europe as simple as that, so the negativity will come back.

    We should enjoy today, tomorrow and Wednesday morning until it's crumbling again :D

    Anyway, I hope for a miracle, but not sure how we can beat them without Licha, Casemiro, a Rashford in form etc etc.

    Won’t be surprised if Hojlund starts this one on the right.
     
    Its the hope that kills you. So lets just throw the towel in now and go for the FA Cup and try and get up the table. Transition season within a transitional period. No point playing in this comp til next year.

    I thought Lindelof had very good second half - and of course it was his excellent pass that set up the first goal
     
    Maybe put Varane in for Lindelof and AWB at right back - keep everything else the same?

    I think this is what will happen with Hojlund is fit to start. Don't think Martial will be dropped after yesterday's performance, and it might help Rasmus to not be the focal point and actually drive inwards with the ball.
