It’s now 3 times 45 minutes and only one goal conceded against Ronaldo, Dyabala, Cuadrado... not too bad.

Pretty pitiful, though some on here will pretend it's been brilliant as expectations are so low now it's frightening.

We are playing like a Serie D side on their big day out.
Totally agree, but try and stay positive tonight as you will have plenty of opportunities this season to spit fury at this team.

    HT review:

DDG - A couple of vital stops, saved by the post on one occasion

    Young - Abysmal
    Smalling - Steady
    Lindelof - Solid
    Shaw - Decent

    Herrera - Very good
Pogba - Trying too hard, failing
    Matic- Crap

    Martial - Promising
    Sanchez - Great
    Lingard - Ok

Overall we've held our own well and a much better performance than the home tie. Still a way to go though, and we need to raise our game further to create a goalscoring chance.

    Agree!!

Hererra gives us the stability we need.

Fecking united fans loud as always!!

    Not too bad.

    Lindelof excellent
    Sanchez decent
    Herrera and Martial doing ok
    Matic off the pace again
    Young useless again
Lingard, has he even touched the ball since stufing up that early counter?

Alexis and Lindelof probably our most promising performances today. DDG with a good save too.

Matic, Young and Pogba terrible, but only Pogba’s performance is a surprise of the three.

It’s the hope that kills you. I’m really trying to avoid getting ahead of myself here.
Oh, I'm not just thinking in terms of tonight. I concede we are playing against a better team. Even if we lose, I'm happy with how we've performed so far and I see huge positive signs in our play with view to the coming months.

Typical European cup game. Just happy to be level at halftime. I think we have a goal in us. It’s whether or not they score on us. Pogba needs to get into it more. With our recent 2nd half performances - I am hopeful.

A lot better from the team. Couple of pans filling moments, but over all much improved. Didn’t look like we shouldn’t be there unlike last time we played them. Still missing that final third though.

Really like Sanchez upfront. Offers a lot more than Lukaku in terms of linking up play.

Decent half. Herrera, what a loveable cnut, I've missed him. Lindelöf is looking good. Jose now needs to somehow convince the players we're down by two goals.

Started well and we looked much better in possession than in recent times. But we didn’t make any chances and it felt a bit like Juve were starting to wake up and dominate at the end there, which was a bit worrying. Just hope we step it up second half and put some proper attacks together.

We've approached this game like a small team, we haven't created anything to threaten them. If they apply the pressure during the second half, they will score

Allegri needs to put more of the starters on, especially Cancelo.

It's been a fairly even game, Juve much more dangerous when they have the chance. United's forwards have no idea how they'll ever get through that Juve defense.

It will probably end in a 0-0 which suits both teams.

The team has a bite tonight akin to Mourinho's old teams but there's a serious lack of quality when we get the ball.

I think we’ve played some nice stuff, kept it on the deck and defended fairly well. If Pogba can find his brain at half time along with his boots, we could create more. Of course they are better than us but we’ve done ok.

Impossible to make a proper counter when Juve are pushing our players that deep.
We just need our midfield to do better with the balls we do get in better positions. So far Pogba and Matic have been poor. Very hard to get anytjing substantial going when we lose the ball so easily in midfield.

That was awful stuff, I'm falling asleep here.

I guess we are not being outplayed as badly as at Old Trafford but we're very poor on the ball.

Juve are a bit off their game thankfully.

Can't watch the match but looking at comments here I would have thought there are two different games going on...
It's simple, we are not good but we are not bad.

It doesn't seem out of place to say we have another gear or two to go through here. A bit more assertiveness and we will cause them problems.

Herrera has been a revelation. He's winning the ball back often and is constantly on the move in possession. Even if the ball doesn't go to him, or he plays it simple when he receives it, he's pulling the Juve team about. We need to do more of that as a team. Create the space then play into it.

Hopefully Pogba can sort himself out, we've lost possession too many times through him.

Not much in the game but some and the BBC seem to think we're 7-0 down against CL winners elect with 2% possession.

For once I have to give some respect to Martin Tyler, at least he had the sense to see it's quite an even game. Not the trashing some hoped we'd get before kick-off.

Pogba is back again to season one when he had problems with basic control of the ball in big games and being our worst player. Shame, because we could have actually did something in that half if he was more involved.

I think Shaw is getting found out at this level. He's god awful defensively but that's not clear in most league games.

Game has gone as predicted. Juve have had enough chances to be 2 up, given the lack of technical ability of our players cant imagine we will eek out a chance let alone score!

Pogba has to be the biggest luxury player ever when it comes to players who have cost a lot of money. The number of times he drops 2/10 games is just disgusting

Started well, hanging on by the end of the half.

It's frustrating that after looking in good shape early on we've been pushed deeper and players such as Young, Pogba and Lingard have been unable to do anything with the ball. We've defended well, though very last-ditch, and I'm hopeful that if Pogba can come into the game a bit more and if we make a positive change in midfield we could do a bit here.

That was probably the most secure we have looked defensively all season long. Smalling + Lindelof is working well, the latter in particular had an excellent half in my opinion.

Will people still blame our defense if we finally concede? If the gameplan is to defend heroically like Stoke not conceding would be just lucky innit?

Only Lindelof and Matic having a good game , need Mata in stead of Lingard who is clearly still out of form

Some people just whinge for the sake of it. It's tedious.

Decent first half, Juventus had a decent last 10-15 minutes but nothing overly concerning.

Good first half against one of the best teams in Europe.
This type of performance vs most teams in the Prem would result in positive results.

With no height in the team and Sanchez dropping deep at times, scoring past this defence will be tough, dare I say we miss the height of Lukaku in the box (although that headed chance vs Everton says not  )

Lot of positives to take though. Some real good passing out from the back. Lindelof has played well again which is great to see
