Probably just parroting everybody else but the off the ball structure looks pretty solid!.. On the ball however, we seem really sloppy unless there’s acres of space.

I think Antony will be huge for us, the way he hugs the touchline will stretch teams and allow Bruno to pick up the spaces in between the CB and full back.

Another three points though, on to the next one !

Laying foundations. I'm starting to enjoy this. We have fight in us and the midfield and forwards seem to be gaining confidence with a solid defence behind them. Slowly building something. There'll be ups and downs but I'm happy with this.

Delighted with the result but lots to improve upon. Very happy after the first 2 results.

    Varane and Lisandro were solid
    Dalot very good
    Malacia too
De Gea did his little bit well
Eriksen was solid but not spectacular
    Bruno was fantastic
Mctominay was MOTM. Fair play to him.
Sancho wasn't up to much barring the goal
    Rashford was a mixed bag
    Elanga was alright

Casemiro gave it away a lot
    Ronaldo did very well
Sort of agree but thought Bruno couldn't find his own man for long periods of the first half.

Favourite moment bar the goal and the final whistle was Dalot celebrating his defending! He's had a good couple of games.

    Varane was superb.
    Dalot's interview on manutd app:

Hard-fought wins over Liverpool and Southampton have seen our back four shine following a difficult start to the season defensively.

Dalot, along with Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia, has visibly relished putting in the blocks and challenges, with high-fives, pats on the backs and celebrations between the defenders and goalkeeper David De Gea following each attack that is successfully repelled.

The scenes have brought to mind the way in which legendary Juventus and Italy pair Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini went about their defensive work and the 23-year-old /believes it’s a good way for the backline – no matter who the personnel is – to support each other.

"I think it’s something that comes naturally from each other, from every player,” Dalot told club media.

“Us defenders, we don’t score goals too often, so these are our little goals during the 90 minutes, every time we stop the opponents coming into our goal and our box. I think this is the way it should be.

“This is the goal for us so we will celebrate and I think it’s something that came completely naturally from us.

“I hope it continues so we can give support to each other and I think it’s a good way to do it.”

Yeah loving the team spirit at the back at the moment. I feel nothing but positivity. It is only a matter of time before it rubs off on the entire club.

This defense is looking good isn't it. Big test ahead though should be enlightening.
Indeed, it will be a stiff test for our fullbacks. They need to avoid early bookings. Im not so concerned about Jesus, as Martinez will be all over him but more concerned that Malacia’s aggression will get him in trouble against Saka.

Mentioned this in the Arse thread but the matchup that worries me is Martinelli pushing our right flank. Dalot is about to get his biggest challenge to date on the season.

Malacia will handle Saka just fine I think. Martinez is well suited to matchup with Jesus, tough draw for him but he is up for it I think. Odegaard is playing great ball as well, shows how good this Arse team is so Case will be tested too.

We will probably lose this next match but my hope is we give them a tough fight. They're playing that well right now.

Like many, the most positive thing in the last three games has been the performance and spirit of the back four. Not having to put up with the clamamity performances of Maguire, the never above average performances of Lindelof which people seemed to weirdly be positive about on here or the which Shaw turns up is a blessing. We would have lost every game this season with our old back four.

Varane is virtually a new signing, Malacia is showing promise and Martinez is one of a few really top center backs to come into the premiershpi tis season that isnt a big name. Love his spirit, reading of the game and on the ball so far.

But, the balance still simply isnt there, feel the importance of Antpny living up to the fee and hitting the ground to a degree running and fittin gin is vital. Nobody has performed on the right. Amad has never looked ready, Pellestri hasnt had an opportunity, SAncho has never looked right there, Elanga is merely a team player and a godo young pro....every player has looked better on the left.

Im still concerned with ashdord up front, Martial up front and Ronaldo fading a fair amount this season....however, create chances and Ronaldo still gets goals, that is what I hope ANtony adds to our attack, chances.

Sad to say as we may never have signed ANtony if it wasnt for the Greenwood situation but ability wise Sancho, Greenwood and Antony would have been something.

I still am not convinced by our midfield though, McTominay has been doing quite well but he isnt the answer, Fred even further forward isnt the answer and Eriksen seems to really fade in the second halves of games to me.

We definately need to improve our creation of chances going forward beyond on the break with pace

That's true. It was mixed in the first half but much better as the game went on. Work rate was phenomenal throughout though.

I think he's taken a bit of a knock in confidence over the last 18 months but he's going the right way about getting it back.

Was some fun play after Ronaldo entered the pitch. Best combination play so far this season.

People are too ready to jump on anything that Rashford does, nowadays. He has been good. Created two chances - tried to have a shot, which I think is what he is being criticised for.
Leicester haven't been great and the chances he created weren't anything special. There is a base level of quality and input into a game that United should expect from any player and Rashford almost never meets that consistently. Hes on north of £200k/week. I expect him to perform as such. Not be pleased when he contributes a couple of times a game.

He definitely tries - do you really think Ten Hag would play him if he didn't? Ten Hag demands effort - it would make absolutely no sense if he didn't and yet still made the first 11.
It would when you consider our other options are....Ronaldo who he is seemingly trying to put back in his box and make understand that he is just another tool to be used like the other players in the squad. Ronaldo who can't run for very long.

Once Martial is back from injury and Antony is up to speed Rashford will become a bit part player at best. Its only our lack of forwards and Martials injury issues that are giving him a game at the moment.

If you watch Rashford his body language and application in games is still massively lacking. Watch any other striker for the top teams and you will see that.

Hopefully when Antony gets up to speed we can build a quick, energetic front three out of Rashford, Elanga,Sancho, Martial and Antony.
Rashford touch for the assist class and his passing was better he just needs his confidence, he wasn’t awful today just not as good as he can be could easily have had 3 assists today, I see progress but he needs more than 1 goal and 2 assists in 5 PL games

As much as I agree with you over Rashford, I get the impression that Sancho frustrates ETH more, I see ETH starting front 3 when everyone is fit as Rashford(LWS), Martial(CFS), Antony (RWS)
He has Rashford Raw Pace, Martial link up play and come short and go long plus Antony as Playmaker, the reserves serve the same purpose If we continue to score 1 goal a game though, Ronaldo will force his way into the team. Plus a 100% Marcus is a weapon, currently he’s at 65% last two years he’s been 40/50% at best!!

with J Sancho, C Ronaldo, Elanga, Garnaucho being on the bench

Not sure. I think that Sancho just isn't a one or two man counter attacking player so much as Rashford so when EtH goes a bit more defensive later in the game Rashford stays on for that counter-attacking threat.

Ultimately I don't think EtH will want to be playing like that too often if he can avoid it. He will want to be in complete control of most games and in that case Sancho can stay on. Only time will tell.

Yes can see that but needs his or Ellanga’s raw pace to use the counter attacking formation , against Arsenal he will want to suck them on them hit them on the counter attack
