Seen poor 4-0 nil defeats against the Scousers but at times we looked shocking and worse today. We think we came good late on and some will believe that but it was mostly baseline play with no product and a sucker punch ending.

DOGSO is a red card. Denial of an obvious goal scoring opportunity is a straight red, attempt on the ball does not enter into it.
Actually, DOGSO inside the box while attempting to play the ball is a yellow. DOGSO outside the box is a red regardless of intent.

Missed the game unfortunately. I’d just like to ask if we picked up more injuries and how Williams played?

I just saw some stuff on here yesterday and then on twitter. I’ve not read the Daniel Harris stuff, nor have I followed up. What I’d read was that he’d fractured a bone in his back. If it’s confirmed BS then thank god and apologies
Have to apologise to Daniel Harris because he was spot on today, fair play to him for calling it before anyone else

Shaw had some cramp at the end, don’t think it’s an injury per se. Williams was excellent despite a couple loose passes. I was surprised he came off instead of Shaw. Williams might have simply been exhausted.

We generally played decent. Two sustained periods where we were under constant goal threats and they didn’t score only because of VAR and luck. We created just a few quality chances and Martial blasted high and wide on the best of them. Pereira was peripheral, Fred ran a lot but imho was not effective, and Matic was good. Our back 4 tried zonal marking and gave up an easy goal because of it. When we got our first corner Liverpool had already taken 11.

Liverpool were far from their best, and we managed to mostly subdue them but at the price of having almost no attacking threat.

I wasn't expecting anything but a Liverpool win. I said to myself before the game as long we show some heart and desire then I'd take it on the chin and move on.

There are signs that Ole can get this team playing, albeit there are other times when we look clueless. Given that half of our first team were out and Liverpool were at full strength as usual, I say we did alright. Some will say alright isn't good enough for United, and they're not wrong but we have to be realistic. We are where we're at and it's going to take at least another year of good ins and outs as well as sticking to this system which we're currently playing. Set pieces at both ends need a lot of work though.

I think Williams and Shaw on the left worked well, Williams showed again that he's a comfortable ball player not just a defender and Fred arguably his best game in a United shirt. We created a handful of decent chances that may have gone in on another day and limited Liverpool. They had periods of sustained threat but so did we.

I didn't watch the 2nd half. My stream wasn't working and Liverpool were starting to get into their groove so opted out witnessing a potential walloping. Plus I had some virtual deliveries I needed to accomplish in that dystopian Post-Man Pat game.
Thankfully that (walloping) didn't come to pass and by all accounts United did reasonably ok-ish. Had a few guilt chances ourselves.

Overall its a odd match because I dont think United fans can really take anything away from it. We knew Liverpool would win. We knew we're clearly out of our depth here. We knew our injuries would hit us hard but we also knew United would atleast give it a go to some degree and they did.

For a derby it felt abit nothing. Abit predictable but fundamentally a sign of the direction of the two clubs.
Liverpool are riding high while United are, once again, in uncertain waters but we knew that.

    Again,it felt abit shallow.
