Snap your hand right now for a draw. Anfield is a hard ground for us for some reason even in Fergie days. They are coming back in form just in time
The fixtures have been kind to them to be honest. They will definitely be up for this.
I agree and would definitely take a draw. A win would be unreal. A loss would be unbearable.

I fecking hate this lot with a passion. They ruined me childhood.
    COME ON UTD!

Surely you got to target TAA? Rashford or Garnacho out left for me.
Garnacho left with Rashy as a no9. Rashford's pace will cause problems to their high line defence while Garnacho can destroy TAA.
Of course, Pool at home means that TAA will be a lot in attack so my worry will Garnacho do his job in defence helping Shaw vs Salah/TAA combo. Risky shit

    DDG
    AWB - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro - Fred
    Antony - Bruno - Rashford
    Weghorst
Antony was poor yesterday but this game is too big for Garnacho.
Use him as an impact sub.

We have enough fresh legs, a nearly completely rested back 4. Half rested Rashford. Casemiro also still more rested than Liverpools midfield. They also played Wednesday night. So far so good.

Just go there and play a disciplined away match. We absolutely can not concede the first one. If we score the first one though, it will run exactly to our needs, just as the Newcastle final.

With Jota coming back, they definitely have a bite to their attack. But defensively they have been quite poor this season with a nearly invisible midfield. Casemiro should be able to dictate that which gives more freedom for our attackers and a good cover for our defense. Varane and Lisandro should be good enough for them. Just gutter that we have a game on Thursday and they do not have any midweek game which means Klopp can go full strength without anything to worry about

United win and we go 13 points clear of Liverpool, 11 clear of 5th and within 3 points of City.

United lose and Liverpool close the gap to us to 7 points and the gap to top four to 3 points. We'd only be 4 points clear of Spurs and 8 clear of Newcastle with 2 games in hand on us. Fully back in the top four race.

    Big game.

Yeah I have no counter argument for this other than maybe you get Rashford one on one with him sometimes this way, and it keeps Weghorst off the field, but yeah probably it’s Weghorst up top and one of Antony or Sabitzer is benched, and Garnacho comes on at LW and Rashford moves centrally.

    I'd go with this team:

    DDG
    Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw
    Casemiro, Fred
    Bruno, Weghorst, Garnacho
    Rashford
I think Garnacho is the type of player that can cause TAA problems and Rashford can also drift over to that side and be a threat in behind. I think AWB is in better for but I think Dalot may be better suited for this game, particularly if Nunez starts on the left. From what I've seen he's not much of a dribbler and more of a threat in the air and with his movement and I think Dalot is better suited to handle that type of threat.

The way i see this game is 5-0 to liverpool. Calm down!! ...thats incidents. 3 bricks at United team bus followed by a coffee cup full of coins at Brunos head for a corner, finished of with Roberston sliding into the back of Antony taking him into the boardings. Other than that a 3-1 win to Utd.

I'm weirdly confident for this game. They've been shite this year, they've no midfield and our terrible run there has to come to an end someday, so it may as well be Sunday.

We have to target them in behind TAA, so I'd start Rashford on the left, and have him make runs between TAA and their centre back, have Shaw make overlaps on the outside, and get Bruno to keep whipping balls into that area. We know TAA can't go backwards, so take full advantage of that fact.

AWB to start this one just to shore up the defence a bit. We'll need to keep it tight to start with.

    DDG
    AWB - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro - Fred
    Antony - Bruno - Rashford
    Weghorst

And it will all change again next week. The PL is so unpredictable

ETH will go full strength too. He won’t be thinking about Thursday. I’d rather have a European game after this fixture than one before it.

This is the fixture I dread more than any other every season. Having gone to school with a huge swathe of Scousers, when Liverpool were was in their prime, I never had a moment's piece (same is true from primary school but with Arsenal fans, which is why I dislike them too).

I just can never see us winning at Anfield, whatever the positions of the two teams in the league table and regardless of who is in form and who isn't. Of course, this makes it a game I want to win pretty much more than any other (if that is possible). I can't stand the the thought of losing to this lot - I've still not got over letting that three-goal lead slip 20 years ago...

Not going to assume we're getting points here, going to Anfield always seems like flipping a coin to me, even if one of the teams is in terrible form and the other at a peak.

What I am looking forward to hopefully being a match-up in our favour is Rashford and Shaw making mincemeat of an out-of-form Alexander-Arnold at RB. Again, no promise here because it's against us and he may just have a worldie and decide he actually enjoys defending rather than ploughing forward to cross and leaving their right side open.

Jota has only scored in the Carabao cup this season, 13 games in CL and EPL without a goal. In fact it’s something stupid like 0 goals in last 20 or thereabouts.
He’s a busted flush now. We should want Jota starting for them.

Form goes out the window in this kind game. They are crap but will find another level against us.

We'll have to be at our best to win.

I think since they had David James in goal we’ve been good at Anfield once and it was that game under LVG where Gerrard got sent off. Every single other game we’ve absolutely stank despite a few scrappy 1-0 or 2-1 wins.

Weghorst double for the win incoming to give him that cult status at the club

Would like this team. Think Antony gives us good balance on the right side. Varane, Shaw and Fred will be fresh, Martinez, Casemiro and Rashford to a large extent too. Brun o is the one that plays all the time so worried it could effect his performance in this game.

We have struggled at Anfield even in best of times unfortunately so this should be difficult one again.

That means weghorst is a machine that don't need rest a well

Ambition man.. come in. When we were struggling would liverpool have been happy with a draw at OT.
I still remember when they came to OT last season and embarrassed us. I think that was the day OLE was sacked. Let's pay them back

Fully expect to see Milner at RB either from the start or some point in the game.

Gakpo to score would be a bit:nervous:

Milner or TAA against Rashford is just fine by me.

We cannot give them any hope for top 4. First time since 2015 that we go to anfield with the better manager. I think we might see a performance similar to that one with LVG and a score of 2-1 to us again.

I don’t buy that for one second. We’re trying to win 4 competitions.
Their season is over apart from top 4 hopes. United is focusing on cups with a hairs width of hope for the Prem. They are also at home. It is easily a far more important game for them, as if United lose nobody will really say anything other than "yeah fair enough we were due a game" while if they lose then their season is pretty much a disaster.

Thing is to never underestimate Liverpool, especially at Anfield. Chances are they’ll be really fired up and we’ll be penned back in our own half for a good percentage of the game.
