I hope the fans don't take it easy on carrick and staff if we set up as underdogs against arsenal
Unlikely, it’s Man Utd at OT…that’s not what fans expect

Sancho looked like he was struggling last time out, if he's not fully fit I'd hope for Donny to come in and play a diamond again.

I've just noticed on the lineup prediction thing on here it says

Can you read Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's mind and predict the starting XI and substitutes?

Well yeah, you mostly could because he always picked his faves & never dropped them no matter how bad they played, I hope Rangnick won't be like that.

As long as we get the win I don't care how he sets up. He is just keeping a seat warm and should do what it takes to get a result. Keeping it tight and picking our moments is fine by me. The expansive stuff can wait once we get settled into a new system. Right now it's just about getting thought the fixture.

Completely forgot this game is tommorrow. A must win. Sick and tired of these coming to OT and getting away with points. When was the last time we beat them at home? Feels like ages ago.

When did we last beat them, period?

It really feels like we're way overdue a win against this lot, especially more criminal because they dropped a level or two in the past several years.

Mou’s 2nd season was the last time United got a win against Arsenal in the prem. Outside of that FA Cup game when Ole first took over it’s been pure crap performances against Arsenal.

I think Greenwood will come back in for Sancho, as he looked knackered when he came off on Sunday. Ronaldo for Matic, Maguire for Bailly although it should be Lindelof in all honesty. Not sure on Shaws fitness, was it not concussion protocols that have kept him out, he'll likely start if fit.

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McT Fred
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford
    Ronaldo

Hopefully Cavani and Varane at least make the bench after long absences, would be nice for RR to have a full squad to see how they do in training and go forward to the Palace game.

This is the biggest game of the season in my house with the Mrs being a gooner, so I'd love a win here.
    Why? He's terrible

I have no idea either, yet.
West Ham drew, so they have 24 points, so if we win we're 3 points off 4th. If the Arse win they go to 26, so we'd be 8 points off 4th. That makes it a big game.

Will be another difficult watch but if Carrick can contain Chelsea he should be able to contain Arsenal too. I'd use Bruno as a super sub again because we need to keep our discipline in the first half.

    This.

We need to stabilise the club and install some confidence in the players. Can't afford to go all expansive & gung-ho. A draw at this point would be a good objective considering that we have not had the greatest results against them for quite a while now.

It's bad form under a lame duck manager, the players are not traumatised. A draw would be a poor result.

Arsenal been so shit the last decade and we usually thrive against offensive teams. So I have a hard time to understand why they’re our bogey team in recent years. Think we have 1 win in last 7 H2H which is a bit depressing when you consider how shit they are. But here we are, fighting for that last CL spot with Arse, West ham, Spurs and Leicester

Both teams really needs the points so a draw is pretty useless here. With Lego Pep’s at the wheel this could be a disappointing night but I hope not. I’ll take a 2-1 win.

    Sancho and Ronaldo to score.

If Arsenal win 8 points is almost 3 games they can afford to lose and United have to not lose/draw anymore games. Which I fear is too much to claw back even with Rangnick he isn't a miracle worker.

Like I said I think a draw is a good result because it keeps United in the top 4 trophy race which is what the new manager needs. I'd rather draw than go gung-ho and lose. As a loss is absolutely devastating for this club.

But I imagine a draw would be widely criticised unlike against Chelsea where it was hailed as a Carrick Masterclass in setting up not to lose the game keeping things tight/compact/solid and good result. Strange considering Arsenal are probably the most in-form team in the Premier League right now and deserve respect. But that's certain media and certain fans agendas when certain players start.

A bit harsh…I’d have thought we’d be behind Liverpool and City in your pecking order of hate…
Nah for me, you lot are the absolute pits. "same old Arsenal.,..always cheating" and all that. The way you go on about the Invincibles is laughable. I'd love Norwich, Derby or a club like that to draw 36 games, win 2 and still get relegated and make an absolute mockery of that fake accolade. You still think you're a massive club yet you take the piss out of United because most of their fans don't have a Manchester accent or postcode....and you've been shit in Europe for decades. You're gradually becoming irrelevant but you can't see it. You're not even the biggest club in London anymore. United haven't pulled up trees for years but we're always front page and always will be. The way you abused Wenger after all he'd done for you is unforgivable and how you took the piss out of Emery was a disgrace. Arteta's perfect for you as you don't deserve a decent manager. Then there's the way you treated your staff during the pandemic...and the exorbitant ticket prices...and the way you constantly push your merch. Then there's all those godawful fan channels that Arsenal fans are trying to grift on... I could go on.

For me Arsenal are the lowest of the low. Their fans are just the worst probably some of the most deluded in the world, followed by the Berties, then the Dippers.

I would like to see same lineup as the one vs Chelsea with VDB takes McTominay's place and Ronaldo takes Rashford's place. I feel that McTominay has played too many games so he might be rested now. I expect Maguire to start by Carrick's selection so I will drop Bailly. We know what Bailly is, one good game, the next game will be disaster or injured.

Well said mate. I couldnt describe my feeling for Arsenal better. But for me they’re a nothing club. Last 5 years I even forgot they exist until we meet them. But I’ve noticed this is the fixture of the year for them. Always turning up for this one. And week after they lose to Norwich.

This is going to be a battle. I hope to see a similar defensive display as Chelsea but with far more potency in attack. 3-1 Utd.

    Why? He's terrible
I don't buy into the notion he's become terrible overnight. He was steady last season and although not some rock of a defender, brought a calming influence to our defence that neither Bailly or Lindelof managed. Him and Shaw are obviously suffering a terrible hangover from the euros like a lot of the England squad have been.

Phillips, Kane, Grealish, Sancho, Sterling etc none of them have hit the heights of last season. As we've seen with Sancho though the last couple of games, that will eventually pass and they'll start to return to levels expected of them.

Yup. I see the usual McFred combination, but this time they will be more offensive in terms of pressing and forcing turnovers as Arsenal like possession. Should be an game of attrition. We always beat Arsenal by roughing them up a bit. Hopefully, United can get a win.

Maybe so but he's terrible now and a break should do him good.

If we play with the same intensity as we did against Chelsea we will win this game, I’ve watched Arsenal a few times lately and were I think they are playing well they also are fairly wasteful infront of goal..

Look I don't entirely disagree with you, but based on form he's been terrible. After Lindelof and Bailley performed well recently, I'd keep them in. Maguire may improve in the future, but right now he's a walking liability and has deservedly lost his place.

He didn't lose his place though, he was suspended and will walk straight back in to the side rightly or wrongly. I don't think Lindelof has performed well either, whilst Bailly is always hot or cold which is why he is only ever used in emergencies as you've no idea what you're going to get.

I think you’re wrong about Lindelof he’s been in good form nearly all this season and basically one of our better performers.

Work visa problems might keep Ragnarok from making this, I hear?
I can't see why he's not at ot coaching now. Officially he's just observing if anyone asked. Same as picking the team. He could then sit in directors box officially as a fan and give his in match orders to fletchers earpiece. Who can stop him?
