Arsenal have started extremely well but they've also ridden their luck at times. We can put a lot of doubt in their minds and burst their bubble with a win.

A draw wouldn't be disastrous but it would be 8 points dropped already, which isn't ideal. I think that the many points that the other top 4 contenders have dropped and are dropping helps, though.

Thats a bad thing for us, proper average footballer. Although to be fair I have no clue who his replacement would be. Can’t be arsed to watch arsenal play enough to know.
This is a very very poor take. He's been top class so far this season along with Saliba and was our best defender last season. But, each to their own..

For what it's worth it looks like Ramsdale and Odegaard might be fit but will be tight. Zinchenko looks to be out along with Partey and Elneny. White is an unknown atm but didn't train today. Arsenal team I think will be:

    Ramsdale
    Tomiyasu - Saliba - Gabriel - Tierney
    Sambi
    Saka - Odegaard - Xhaka - Martinelli
    Jesus

He would have probably done some gym work but nothing like match training for around 3-4 weeks. Not sure that can be solved in two training sessions.
He was dropped on 21st August so only 2 weeks ago, pretty sure he carried on training for a while as well before going full meltdown and refusing go even train. He won't start but expect to see him on the bench

    2 big calls to make.
Do Casemiro and Ronaldo come in.

Too soon to start for Anthony, and even if Martial is back he can't possibly start.

Yeah, also whether he'll rest Eriksen or not could be interesting.

Yes to Casemiro starting both vs Arsenal and Sociedad, then rest him on Palace.

For all I care, Ronaldo could be benched for majority of season if we keep winning without him.

Ye he can be an extra coach… we know he loves cheering the team on from the bench

The game has probably come a bit too soon for Antony to start, but I can see him making an appearance off the bench. Elanga to get dropped, Rashford moved to the left, and Ronaldo down the middle. Casemiro and McTominay in midfield.

We’ll see how poor the take is come the end of the season. He’s the definition of a B-/B defender.

I don't need to wait to the end of the season. He's been very good so far for Arsenal last season and this season so far. You can have your very poor opinion based off probably 1 game or some highlights :)

My poor opinion? Try your manager’s. If he was your best player last year, he wouldn’t have been the one to be moved out of position to make way for Saliba. If Arteta believed he was your best CB then he would’ve played White with Saliba but clearly, he doesn’t. So yeah I don’t think I’m wrong based on “one game or some highlights”.

Amazingly, “IF” we beat the Arse we’ll be either 3 or 4 points max off top spot come the final whistle.

OR. It's because Tomiyasu isn't fit, and White has played RB before and Saliba hasn't, and it wouldn't make sense to put a 21 year old making his debut in the wrong position.

Wait no that's too much logic. Let's stick to your bizzare takes ;)

Realistically Saliba can be better than White and Gabriel, and Gabriel starts because he is left footed, so White very much could make way, but that isn't any indication of Whites ability. It's just Saliba has a higher ceiling, which is true he could be amazing.

As for the game, I think United will slightly edge it tbh. I think our midfield might just get a bit overrun. Think we will start very strong, but United will get a goal and it'll be tough to break you down. (If Casemiro plays and no Maguire in team).

Haha thats a lot of words to say “basically yeah the lad that I said was our best CB will most likely get benched when our RB is fit” so he’s not your best CB and not that good. Glad we agree.

As for the game, arsenal, from the 2 halfs I’ve seen them, look good. I think it’ll be a good game but I expect us to win just because we have more experienced players, while Arsenal are still a little too young. I do worry how we’ll score against an Arsenal defense that has looked good but I can’t see us giving you guys too many chances. First goal will be huge in this game as both times look set to be primed for the counter.

These are really clicking at the moment.
We should fly out of the blocks and really unsettle them. They'll be nervous at the start of the match and that's when we should turn up the heat the way we did against Liverpool.

Dalot needs to be very careful against Martinelli and Mctominay and Sancho need to give him a dig out. If we play to our ability we can win this.

    De Gea
    Dalot
    Varane
    Martinez
    Malacia
    Casemiro
    McTominay
    Bruno
    Sancho
    Ronaldo
    Rashford

It will likely be the 10 players from Leicester and then Casemiro coming in for Elanga for a 4-3-3. Even though I don't fully agree with the idea of not changing a team because they won, he's not going to change the team much.

Agree. This will be the Arsenal team. You can almost bet the house on it.

The bookies have this split this right down the middle. Any of three results is possible.

As for our tactics. We dont need to push from the beginning, were the away team, this isnt a home match to Aston Villa were we need to take the initiative to score the first goal. Arteta should be happy to deny United the ability to counter and coax United into our half to try and break us down leaving them vulnerable to the counter.

That being said Saka and Martinelli should press high up the pitch along with Odegaard, but Xhaka is the one who needs to modify his game. He cant get forward to often leaving ASL on his own to defend a counter. Thats the only tactical adjustment I would make, other than that, same rules as always. Wing backs joining in the attack and Saka, Martinelli and Jesus operating as a genuine front three.

    I'd like to see:

    DDG
    Dalot - Varane - Martinez - Malacia
    McTom - Casemiro
    Bruno - Eriksen - Sancho
    Ronaldo

With Rashford or Martial swapping in for Ronaldo if ETH sees us hitting more on the counter rather than attempting to control the game.

Looks lined up to be a good game. Exciting times !

The front 3 doesn't have enough pace. We will need it against them. I think ETH will start the same starting 11 especially since they won the last 3 matches plus with the ability to make 5 subs, he can be conservative.

I think he'll play Antony. Big game, go and announce yourself, son.
He has only played once this season. Doubt if he is fit enough to start. And ETH doesn't seem the sort to throw in a player immediately.
Maybe as a sub with 20mins left

Would like to see Antony in for Elanga (pleeeeease, no Elanga!), Casemiro in for McTominay, Fred for Eriksen and if Martial was starting, we would definitely spank those slimeballs.

Rashford would only get in ahead of Ronaldo because of his pace, but we do need Ronaldo's finishing boots on the pitch, for sure.

I want to see Martinez, Fred, Casemiro, Bruno and Antony on the pitch at the same time carrying out all manner of shithousery.

I was watching this presser and I’m almost certain Antony won’t play against Arsenal. Martial is out too.

Also, based off this video, what’s the deal with embargoes in press conferences? Why have different time slot for embargoes?

I guess it's so various journalists and publications can milk the "content" over the weekend and not splash it all out 20mn after the conference and then get more views/clicks/updates from the fans.

Yeah, I knew Martial was out. Was just saying if he was playing we'd smash them. I'm sure Antony will feature at some point? He looked ok in the training vid. He must have 20 mins in him at the very least.

Arsenal play some beautiful and quick football so it is going to be tough.
But Arsenal fans are the absolute worst whenever their team has just a smudge of success, so we have to beat these feckers.

Dude, A) you just agreed with my take in your last post. Like literally haha. B)White played for you last season too in case you’ve forgotten? So my opinion is not based on two halves genius.

We will be exhausted physically. Unfortunately, I do not see us winning, thus a draw is the best hope. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worse, a tight loss.
Atleast in hope you can win. Cant go through life hoping for average whatever the reality/situation

    especially their online media feckers.

You should look at their combined United-Arsenal teams.

Difficult to pick a team and I don’t think he’ll change many players, perhaps only taking out Elanga. ETH seems to reward the performers so I expect we might see Casemiro in for Elanga and moving Bruno wider. It’s the change he’s done during the last two games.

I personally wouldn’t as I prefer Bruno in the middle and a winger out wide.

    My prediction:

    de Gea
    Dalot Varane Martinez Malacia
    Casemiro McT
    Bruno Eriksen Sancho
    Rashford
    ______________________
I would prefer to see Elanga and McT taken out, moving Eriksen next to Casemiro and Ronaldo up top.

    Back 5
    Casemiro Eriksen
    Sancho Bruno Rashford
    Ronaldo

Can't wait to see Martinez and Varane bring some shithousery defending. Also Casemiro to neutralize their midfield.

This will be a 1-1 draw

    De Gea
    Dalot - Varane - Martinez - Malacia
    Casemiro - Eriksen
    Sancho - Bruno - Rashford
    Ronaldo

I do hate these jammy cnuts though so hope we smash them.

Ronaldo and Casemiro start this one for me.

    ------------------------------De Gea ‐----------------------------
    Dalot----------- Varane --- Beasty ---------Malacia-
    --------------------Casemiro------McT----------------------
    ‐---------------------------Bruno ---------‐-----------------------
    Sancho-‐-‐-------- Ronnie--------------- Rashford --

Would be a pity to drop Eriksen but I think he is more likely than Bruno who is our captain at the moment or McT who will be used for physicality. Hopefully I'm wrong too and sancho starts on the Left

I'd start Ronaldo ahead of Rashford and certainly think of Antony starting too although it might be asking a bit much to be thrown in so early having had so little time with the squad - that said, if he's fit and up-to-speed it would be an unknown for Arsenal to deal with and we need some pace up front - plus someone to put the ball on to Ronaldo's head. But, my guess, is he'll be on the bench
