There is no player in the world who can look as championship player in one moment and world class in another as Rashford can

Some lovely attacking moves, like I was hoping for from this midfield. However we have looked vulnerable 3 or 4 times on the counter where they got through too easily and fluffed the chance

Rashford just doesn’t have a fast thinking brain unfortunately, can’t process decisions at speed.

great half though, WHY NO HATTRICK BRUNO

Rashford yet again only looked dangerous when he had space to run into that led to the PK.

How on earth did he fvck up the pass right before half time?

Cavani instead of Martial in a central role gives the team a completly different style in attacking play. Aggresive and direct.

Brilliant first half, needed some entertaining after the weekend.

Cavani showing the benefit of a proper no 9 for the forwards to link with, if Bruno clicks with him then he will take the no 9 from Martial this season.

They are causing chances though which always tends to happen when we play attack minded.

Back four need to push up a tad they don’t have a lot of pace.

In an otherwise really entertaining, exciting half - I will never not be infuriated by Wan-Bissaka's outright laziness in walking/jogging back.

Lindelof's back clearly flaring up again since the 30th minute. Holding it constantly...wouldn't be surprised to see him not come out for the second half.

    Pretty good half.
Not sure about that midfield defensively but everything else looks solid. VDB's one touch passing makes our passing very fluid.
Unfair criticism towards Rashford. Did you notice that we play through the right side this game as opposed to any other game really? Its cuz he is there. Better width better balance with this team. Great link up between Bruno and Rashford.
Martial invisible on the left though.

How did we lose to this lot in Turkey? With proper decision making we could have scored another two or three in that half.

Would like to see us bring Greenwood on after 15 mins for Rashford, perfect game for him to come back into. Would also bring on McTominay and give Bruno a rest, push van de Beek to the attacking role.

straight up goal difference in the group is way down the tie breaker list so it's not nearly as important as head to head results, or head to head goal difference. Still, pour it on.
RBL ain't beating us by 5 clear goals in rematch

Come in expecting to see praise and all I see are people abusing Rashford for a misplaced pass.

Do all of you actually enjoy life anymore?

Thought I’d venture here and expect everyone to be singin our praises but seems to be a lot of negativity still. Come on guys that was a superb first half!

Delighted by the scoreline. I was worried we'd be too open and, to some extent, we have seen our defensive weaknesses displayed. Basaksehir had three or four really good chances and a better team probably would have taken at least one or two. However, we have done the right things in forward areas and so Ole's gamble can be said to have paid off (thank God). We really need to go quicker in behind. With the way Basaksehir are pressing we could make this a cricket score if we went direct earlier.

They are interchanging a lot though. Cavani goes left and Martial central.

    Where the grass is greener.
Martial looks much better wide, and Rashford doesn't exactly look bad on the right either. With Cavani's strikers movement down the middle, its so much smoother.

Our defence is a worry though, given up a lot of chances.

An exhilirating first half because Ole actually fielded an attacking line-up, rather than two CDMs who take the tempo out of the game. Only serves to show how we should never have been so negative and deplorable when playing these in Turkey. We should be qualifying from this group at the end of tonight. Instead, with three points here, our qualification for the last 16 will still be in the melting pot.

Finally a pretty fun game to watch. Everyone is clicking and our attack looks on synch with each other.

    Lovely performance
    Fred a worry.
    Rashford's decision making.

    Maguire is very worrying.
His passing has gone crap again and he's slow as a tortoise and he completely lost Demba Ba.

After a few decent games too. I think he needs to go away and work alot on his game reading.

Cavani for me is MOTM and has surprised me. COmpletely changed how we played.

    Fernandes is Fernandes
    Can he though?
In any case, I hope he comes back out better concentrated.

This is great fun but it is also showing why we can't play an attacking line up, the defense can't cope without cover.
But it should cope woth it. Those are good players. Many (most) teams play with one dmc. I don't know where is the problem

@FireballXL5 , as expected, our midfield has been too easy to play through. Thankfully, they don't have their shooting boots on and we're doing the business at the other end!

Actually enjoyed that. If we play that way, we are gonna need another CB. I think there's a lot of work for anyone who plays DM in this system....

Well that was an enjoyable first half, don't get to say that enough times.
Wel given you hate the manager and are always looking to justify that opinion, you won’t enjoy many games at all
