Newcastle are coming to Old Trafford and we are going to make it as difficult for them as we possibly can.

Sancho isn't injured, he picked up a knock on international duty but has recovered. And there's no way Ole starts with Lingard.
Good news on Sancho but Ole said Lingard was going to start vs Leeds and he runs about a lot to help the midfield plus he's coming off a brace for England, I wouldn't be shocked if he starts.

    Fred can't play
Are Fifa actually bowing down to this nonsense from the Brazilian FA?

    Is Sancho fit?
I think he will be because they said it was minor and he will be ready by the time the Newcastle fixture came around. If he isn't maybe Pogba will play on the left and Matic and VDB will get a go in midfield. Or maybe even Lingard from the left.

Ole hasn't played a 4-3-3 since Herrera left, but that fact doesn't seem to be influencing a lot of people here.

Ah good, in which case I'd choose the same starting 11 as you suggested.

If Sancho is fit I'd like him to start, if not then I reckon it might be Lingard. Could also be Donny though! Right? Right?!

    Without McTominay and possibly Fred.
Might be a Matic VDB combo.

Fred banned, Ole turns to none other than Mejbri and the forum explodes and VdB is left reeling.

Dunno why everyone is smitten with VDB he's been bang average whenever given the opportunity to play.

    It’s bizarre.

    Give him a change!

Gets given a chance and is average.

Difficult line-up to predict with so many uncertain factors, but I think Ole will go with:

    ................... De Gea

    Bissaka - Varane - Maguire - Shaw

    ......... McTominay - Matic

    ............... Fernandes

    Greenwood - Cavani - Pogba

    or maybe

    Fernandes McTominay Pogba

    Greenwood - Ronaldo - Lingard

Mejbri will of course not be picked before Donny, but McTominay is back in training, so...

I guess the counter to that is the amount of gap in between those 'chances', and so he's come in cold for a match, looked out of match fitness and sharpness and so 'average', then sat out loads of matches before coming in cold for another appearance.

By 'chance' I assume they're meaning a run of games to build up some match fitness and sharpness and give a fair reflection of what he has to offer when at his best?

I'm, as usual, somewhere in the middle. I don't think he's been given any run of games, so no real 'chance' to build up any kind of match fitness and sharpness. But I can understand why as he's struggled when given rare moments and it's hard to carry anyone who's struggling when every game matters so much.

I read somewhere that the fifa ban does not stop the club from picking the suspended player. In case the club pick the suspended player then they will be fielding an ineligible player and the onus would be on the premier league to punish them.

This FIFA ruling the Brazilian FA has envoked was surely something created pre-pandemic.

The whole of football has had to work around this difficult period with new challenges every game week, and FIFA need to see sense and do the same regarding this. International football was going to be hit with an international pandemic!

No chance though :( but reckon if there was ever a game to try and test this midfield its Newcastle at home.

No possibility about it. He’s banned for 2 games as are all the Brazil contingent that were called up but prevented from travel

That isn't a midfield though, all three are attacking players. It'd be an ocean of space.

    Would like to see:

    De Gea
Wan Bissaka - Varane - Maguire -Shaw

    Van de Beek
    Bruno Pogba

    Sancho
    Want

    AWB Varane Maguire Shaw
    VDB Matic

    Ronaldo

    Greenwood Bruno Lingard
    Cavani
Pretty much want and expect the same.

Wouldn't mind giving VDB a go as a no.6 as we should be on the front foot and he's(according to himself) able to play there.

Would be interesting to see how he'd do there.

If Rashford, Henderson, McTominay, Fred, Telles and Amad are still out.

Starting XI: De Gea - Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Maguire, Dalot - Van de Beek, Matic; Greenwood, Fernandes, Ronaldo - Cavani

Bench: Heaton, Lindelöf, Bailly, Shaw, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Sancho & Martial

    Sarcasm alert
The poster said Ole isn't a genius, and Ronaldo would be fine.

    Surely sarcasm would be saying
"Ronaldo is going to really struggle taking in the stunning intricacies of Ole's highly tuned system".

More chance of us playing Donny Osmond as a solo DM.
