If people cant see we are getting there ,finally, then they have agendas. Thats a good side, really is.

Rooney no longer a starter = great news. Miki integrated, finally, etc etc etc.

Sorry for Rawking it up, but next year.
Defence still needs to be nailed down but agree that it looks a good team & so it should for what we've spent!

Such an important game. Need a win to get ourselves going.

    :houllier::lol:

It is perfectly balanced and has quality in almost every position
    Less quality than our team.
    Combined XI:
    De Gea
Walker - Toby - Bailly - Rose (Shaw playing well would be ahead of Rose)
    Pogba - Dembele
    Mkhi - Mata - Martial
    Ibra

Even though Mata has been one of our best players, it still looks like Mourinho will never prefer him in tough games. No matter how good he plays he just isn't a Mourinho type player.
Don't think it's that, because he has started in 'tough games'. I just think now that Jose seems to be swaying towards a 433, it doesn't suit Mata as much as Mkhitaryan and Martial, who are significantly more direct than Mata, which is important for wingers in a 433.

When we play 4231; however, then Mata should always be in the team, in my opinion.

That back 7 is a right pain in the ass to go against. Should certainly be a tumescent, slow-paced affair.

    So probably 5-3.

Expected team, think Darmian will struggle to deal with Walker though. Would have preferred Blind.
With alder back for Spurs think that gives them the edge. 1-2 Spurs.

'United have found consistency in defence'
Same back five for the fourth consecutive Premier League game which should be good for consistency but it just needs a clean sheet now to cement it. Who would have thought that Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo would be the regular central combination but they have fully deserved their run. Generally both have answered their critics.

I'm a little bit concerned about their midfield to be honest.

Wanyama and Dembele looks so strong and can't really see Carrick an Herrera dominating them.

I'm afraid about their bodies like Aldervereld, Vertonghen, Walker, Wanyama, Dembele

I just hope that we will cope with their phisicality
    Herrera and Pogba are strong.

Should we have played Fellaini if we wanted a muscle contest?

For me Mata should really be guaranteed a starting place. He has probably been one of your best players this season.
Pogba and our midfield play better as a 3 though, then we're talking dropping Mikhitaryan who offers everything Mata does but with pace.

    He's won't be playing #10.
He kind of played as one last week, which was the same team, whilst the way the team is listed it has him between Mkhitaryan and Martial rather than with Carrick and Herrera.

Not a muscle contest. It's more a global though about their team.

Last week Gueye bullied Pogba, same with Kante at Chelsea. I'm just afraid about these kind of midfield againts ours. We're better against playing teamps like City or Ars, but usually struggle against strong and pressing teams.

I could see a midfield with Pogba - Carrick - Mata, and with Blind as a wing-back to do more defensive work. Herrera hasn't played that good lately.

I wouldn't be concerned with how he lines up in twitter team sheet. They always do that and he ends up playing deeper.

Pogba moving forward against Everton was a tactical change in the second half. He didn't start the game there.

Watch Zlatan make a bad pass and his thread will be bumped during first half or at half time and we will see the usual people having a go

Massive opportunity to make up some ground on the top 4. 3 points would be huge today but will be difficult match. I can't see us not conceding so think we'll need to score 2 or 3 to win.

It depends, Herrera's best work is defensively, he does not contribute enough going forward. Pogba can't play as number 10.

Hopefully it is Carrick deep, and Herrera and Pogba at either side although I doubt Herrera's quality going forward
Part of Herrera's strength is when he is allowed to go further forward.

The boys really have to be up for this one after all the missed opportunities to gain on top 4. It'll be 0-0

Nervousness creeping up on me now. Three of my best mates are Spurs supporters. I need a win today.

Then he creates 3 goal-chances by his own, one who leads to a goal, and score one himself, and people will still be like: "Apart from the goal he was shite, he deserves a 5-rating".

Interesting matchup in the middle. We know Carrick needs replacing but curious to see if Herrera stands out against a strong midfield.

This gets peddled every week despite the 4 of them playing very well together, how long until people accept this defence is doing just fine?
We've not kept a clean sheet in the league in the last 4 games against some pretty average competition. Darmian offers absolutely nothing going forwards. Only Valencia will be first choice eventually.

Already worrying about Ibra criticism. Mate you need to step back from the brink. You're in danger of becoming the equivalent of the crazies in the Rooney thread.

Not a bad lineup, I think Carrick and Darmian might struggle but I'm pretty happy with that. Pogba needs to focus on getting our wide players in to the match and Herrera needs to play less safe since Carrick is covering for him.
I think we have enough quality to win but Kane worries me, especially against our back line.

Not really because Zlatan is not even playing close to how bad Rooney does. And yes I love Zlatan, but I must answer guys like Fracture and Wr8_utd when they just have a go at him all the time.

I like the lineup. Would like to have seen Bailly start but clearly Jose thinks it is to soon for him to play such a big game.

Fellaini on the bench annoys me. Shouldnt be near even the bench.

Its strange that Jose doesn't play the front 4 of Zlatan, Mkhi, Mata and Rooney in the PL. Seeing as how they all gelled very well together against West Ham and Feyenoord. I hope the combination he's playing today works but not playing that fluid front 4 when its yielding results is a bit strange for me.

Very happy to see Mkhitaryan's good form has earned him a starting place. Happy enough with the line up.
