All players except Bruno and McTominay should be fresh for this one. Martial, Fred, AWB, Greenwood, van de Beek especially.

I'd consider starting Matic with Fred in midfield, or maybe even Pogba and Fred.

Any info on Shaw, Telles, and Lindelof and Rashford?

Martial had a back injury, so needs to confirm. Shaw is still out, no? 4 more weeks I think. Rashford had an issue with the shoulder if I am not mistaken and needs to confirm as well. Telles, I don't understand his COVID situation.

The rest should be able to play, hopefully Greenwood as well.

Last I heard, Shaw was expected to miss a month with his hamstring injury. He might be back with the squad for the Leipzig game on December 8th, but that could be an important game and then we play Man City the game after. It might be a big ask to come straight back into those kinds of fixtures with limited training/match fitness, but we'll see. He'll play a lot of minutes through December itself though I'm sure.

Telles I am sure will play at least some part over the next two games and beyond while Shaw is out. I'm 50/50 on him even starting both, but expect Williams will also need some time on the pitch as he's lacked real game time as well. I think the best thing to do will be to try and get them both up to speed with 90~ minutes each over the West Brom and Istanbul games (60/30 over each game for example).

I also agree with the midfield, I think it should be Bruno & Fred +1 and that 1 shouldn't be McTominay. With our next two fixtures we should be able to use van de Beek or Pogba instead of Scott and start Greenwood while we're at it, maybe even Cavani if Rashford isn't 100%. I'd like us to go back to McFred for the trickier set of fixtures after the next two: Southampton (A), PSG (H), Man City (A).

I'm hopeful for something like this:

    de Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Telles
    van de Beek Fred
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford
    Martial

If things have gone our way then bring on Matic for Fred or Bruno, Williams for Telles, Cavani for Rashford. I usually have a bad feeling for these kinds of games, but hopefully losing the late goal to Spurs knocked the stuffing out of them. They were looking a lot more solid and slightly more dangerous on the counter, but they are seriously missing that extra quality that is needed to survive at this level. If we can crack them in the first half I think we'll win about 4-0.

West Brom have actually beaten us at OT on a few of their recent trips haven't they? They are also going to park the bus and try and hit us on the break.

We should still win but this type of game is why we struggle. You need width to break down the low block. We don't have.

We’ve been in the terrible habit for years at home of not scoring early enough which is vital in games like this. Problem is, we’re now also in the habit of losing at home in the first half which makes it impossible for us to win when playing against a low block. Nearly of our last few home games (Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Palace, West Ham, Southampton) we’ve either been 0-0 at half time or a goal down early on in the game and we haven’t won a single one.

Poor home form, poor recent record against West Brom, poor form when returning from international breaks, potentially both Cavani and Martial are out...

    What could go wrong, eh?

United 'given injury worry' ahead of West Brom
Manchester United are sweating on the fitness of both Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof - according to reports.
ESPN claim Maguire will be assessed at Carrington today after suffering a foot problem with England.
The report adds United's medical staff are growing increasingly concerned over Lindelof's recurring back problem.

Doesn't really matter. Tuanzebe is good enough cover and WBA aren't going to attack.

    We'll miss Fellaini's aerial threat.

My guess. Then midweek we go VdB/Matic/Pogba trio in midfield and Mata/Cavani and whoever up top.

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic says a number of his players tested positive for Covid-19 during the international break.

Bilic lost Branislav Ivanovic and Matheus Pereira for the 1-0 defeat by Tottenham on 8 November after they supplied positive in the build-up to the game. Striker Callum Robinson also tested positive after going on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

All three are clear to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday – but Bilic says he is still waiting on other members of his squad and has moved his side’s training schedule to allow time for the results to come in.

“We had a few players positive but I can’t say the names. We are doing everything we can. We are waiting for results.”

Need a comfortable win here. WBA have no wins and the worst defensive record in the league so far.

We should consider playing Cavani from the start if he is available, so we have a physical presence and a real goal-getter in the box. Also wouldn't be opposed to seeing Mata in the starting line-up, as he is usually effective at unlocking stubborn defenses.

    4-3-3

    De Gea
    AWB Tuanzebe Maguire Telles
    Bruno Fred VdB
    Greenwood Martial Rashford

Now, this team would break WBA down. Should this 11 start, I’m going for a 4-0 win.

We better not play 2 DMs here. No need to be pragmatic against this shite.

    DDG
    AWB Tuanzebe Maguire Telles
    Fred
    Bruno VDB
    Rashford Cavani Martial

Give them a hammering. Tuanzebe & Fred over Lindelof & Matic to prevent the quick counter attack.

3.30 on a Saturday? What’s going on? If we don’t get the three points, Woodward will be speed dialling Poch come 6pm after given Ole the kiss of death public vote of confidence. Shouldn’t matter who plays, if we have 16 fit players, a club such as ours should be able to field a team to beat the Baggies.

I was thinking the exact opposite. Hate international breaks and can't wait to watch United again.

We’re inconsistent, but one thing we’re not is boring. We’re either world class or diabolical. I always look forward to our games.
When we're shit, we're boring as feck. Those games against Chelsea, Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir are still fresh on the mind.

    just void the league.
They should wait until Man Utd lead the league then we can void the league at that very moment. That we can celebrate being league title winners* like Liverpool was last year.
