Wonder what he’s going to do. Play James, Greenwood, Amad up top or change formation and maybe get Bruno playing as some sort of false 9 or will Cavani, Martial or Rashford make it.

Get Maguire to play CF. And before they start lumping us the ball we should start lumping it back at them

Another game we should win but can feel a shocker on the horizon. So much for the bollox about the "strength" of our squad

Another overreacting post. All teams have had injuries and we were alright for most of the early and mid season. Now it’s our turn to pick up one or two. We have to get on with it. The last time we played West Ham they had no striker and had injury after injury in the game. I didn’t hear you complain back then!

All teams will have injuries over the course of a season. We are supposed to get on with it. I do not want to sound pessimistic, but I doubt we will win FA or EL. Top 4 it is, and I fancy at least 1 team to finish above us and below City.

A draw is not okish its West Ham we’re playing . A draw throws us back in a top 4 fight if teams around us win
Cant expect them to work miracles with our entire front line missing. Im not saying its a «good» result, but regarding the circumstances you cant expect much more against a pretty decent team

Blame Ole, he doesn't do regular pressers after Europa games.
He does actually. After Europa and some midweek games, the Post match press conference is immediately followed by the press conference for the next match. The Utd YouTube page just uploads the latter a day later.

Yes it is a difficult time with a lot of important players not available for the game. But let's have some faith in the ones available. Against Milan there were a lot of disappointments but they have all done great before.

This is not an easy game and its a great uppertunity for the players to show they are better than what we saw against Milan.

I think we will win this game, but Ole really needs to step up with a game-plane that suites the player he put out there, and let's hope he find a great peptalk within him! He needs players with courage to grab the chance to shine when the ones usually do, not will participate.

    James... Martial... Greenwood
    .................Bruno,...................
    .......Fred..............Scott.......
    Shaw....Maguire...Lindelöf...AWB
    ...............Henderson........

Good enough to get a win, but I do have concerns in the lack of goals in the front three.

I know he does but those aren’t regular live pressers. No point doing a live press conference thread on a Friday for an embargoed presser from Thursday.

West ham are no mugs this season so expecting an easy match is an error right there. They're full of confidence with nothing to lose, we will have to be at our best.

We only beat them away with a Pogba wondergoal, and we know our home form is even worse.

Depends who we have available, if the only attacking players fit are James,Greenwood and Amad then I don't expect much.

Any chance Antonio can miss this game? I think he'll be a massive difference maker for them, he was missing the other times we've played them.

I think this is a very tricky game. Our home form is rubbish, and our attack is either knackered or injured.

I hope that these are not excuses just in case we do not win tomorrow?

Who's the lad we got from City who scored 400 reserve team goals? Might be worth sticking him on the bench?

I see Hugill making the bench for this. West Ham will almost certainly score a set piece.

I just don't feel like Ole is the manager to make a complete punt on a youngster.

At this stage we should get Amad starting games when we have the chance to due to all these injuries. If Martial is injured I'd put him front right with James front left and Greenwood through the middle.

Or just change formation for once.

I’m sure it was said in commentary vs Milan that Rashy should make it, although haven’t seen anything on it since.

Noble’s a bench figure these days. It’s typically a Soucek - Rice pairing. I’m assuming Bowen or Lanzini come in for Lingard.
Think we should have looked at Bowen because could have offered us something on the RW and not cost the earth either

I think if we win this game, we will be all but secure for top 4 as we will have a good cushion and all the teams around will continue to drop points.

Greenwood playing centrally with James and Diallo in the wings.

West Ham are without Lingardinho so no party there.

Typical Caf with so many people assuming out of thin air that Rashford and Cavani won't be available. Ole was only asked about Van de Been, Pogba and Mata in the presser and he said it's unlikely they will feature. He wasn't asked about Rashford or Cavani and you're right in that it was mentioned prior to the Milan game that Rashford likely will be available for the West Ham game.

But it's Redcafe, so why not assume the worst without knowing the truth? :annoyed:

Anthony Martial needs a hip issue assessing and Marcus Rashford could return from an ankle complaint, but Edinson Cavani is expected to miss out again. Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek, Juan Mata and Phil Jones remain out.

given the players available and the Chelsea draw I think I'd aim to keep it tight. This is a game we can win in the moments and Moyes will come negatively hoping for Antonio to catch us

with an eye on Milan I'd play

    -------------------Henderson--------------------
    -------Bailly---Lindelof---Maguire--------
    Williams---McTominay--Fred--Shaw
    ----------------------Bruno-----------------------
    --------Greenwood------James-----------

I dont think Amad is ready to start games like this just yet. Scored a great goal against Milan but was very quiet otherwise. Might be a better option from the bench

    a draw wouldn't be a terrible result
