Except the front three, the rest of the team were excellent. Lukaku ruined play after play with his poor link-up. Sanchez couldn't create any real threat. Lingard just ran around a lot without doing much. Pogba was instrumental in all our good moves so I hope no one blames him for the draw.

What was really annoying was that Wolves were clearly out of steam for the last 15 minutes or so and we just couldn't up the tempo. The plan was to lump it up to Fellaini or pass it sideways or back. Wolves weren't coming out but we had no way to overcome that. Lukaku looked like he was running through treacle. A striker needs that half-yard of pace and the nous to anticipate where the ball will come. Lukaku just waits for the ball to get to him.

No real attacking threat or cohesion in the final third from United. Fellaini looks good in his new role, Pogba did well in the first half but United didn't create enough chances or put Wolves under any real pressure. Final ball was atrocious today and the front three were all poor.
Wolves are a decent side, would be surprised if they went down from what they have shown so far, but United need to win these games.

Well we thought we had one in Sanchez. But so far he hasn't shown it. That's not Mourinho's fault. The Chilean is just not at it.
Sorry but Jose takes half of the blame there.

It has been said numerous times now but the fact is no offensive player has really excelled under Jose at United.

We’re so far from the top teams in the final third of the pitch. Embarrassing really.

You are looking for essays in the match day thread? Also, I just stated an observation. What on earth do you think this thread is for if not stating your opinions on the game :houllier:
yeah you're right but I don't agree with bashing Valencia for no reason, it's a neverending story and daft to put his name into blame in a game where he nulified their best attacking moves. We all can agree on that he can be upgraded but he can still provide these 7/10 performances.

But don't let me start again about our asymetrical formation, it's clear to see that he can't really go attack on his own there when everyone is on the otherside of the pitch. His job is to get the ball quick and see if there is an opening and quickly recycle ball if there isn't and it was very few chances where he could do better and under the threat of losing the ball to a dangerous counter he can't simply take on players or put in a pointless cross from a deep position. Not like Luke Shaw created anything getting into decent positions due to how we set up.

Just found nonsensical to criticised Valencia when our biggest problem was poor Sanchez, horrible Lukaku and average Lingard and one unlucky goal

I think Sanchez's stock went up a lot when Wenger played him through the middle when Giroud was injured for a few months. He was quality up front as a striker. He's not as effective out on the left. I didn't get why Jose didn't give the start to Martial after his show during the week. Thought Martial was good when he came on, some nice footwork around the box.

Pep would know what to do with him.Plus it also would've helped that Sanchez would've went from a offensive possession team to another.
Yes. Basically, at City he would be told to go out and play to his strengths in a fluid, attacking team, creating and scoring goals. Simple, really. Unfortunately that's not what is happening at United with him.

As I predicted, Wolves were a handful. They used the City tactic o fouling if it looked like we were about to get a good move going. Pogba spent most of the match on his arse after being fouled. A good game though I thought. We created chances but had no luck.

Sanchez tried but didn’t produce much. All teams have to do against us is press high and be in the players faces but that’s difficult to do for 90 mins. Wolves were tired towards the end and we or they could have snatched a win. Must improve cos against the scousers this won’t do.
