Why is Pogba taking so long with his injury? It was said he’ll be back after the international break and now he’s still nowhere to be seen
Probably being cautious after he came back too early last time

James and Rashford up top or Martial and Rashford with James in behind?

    We're going to win this.

Norwich play nice football, like to attack and are highly naive defensively.

We're utterly clueless against sides that sit back, Norwich are one of the few Prem sides that won't do that.

I back us to win, and to score more than one goal.

I'd prefer the latter but I think he'll go with Rashford and James with Pereira as the 10, martial will end up injured again if he starts after playing 3 days before

We have 2 clean sheets from 9 league games.
This is something I don't get. People are saying we are good at defending, yet we have conceded an average 1 per game. Are we really that good at defending? We are on course to concede 38 goals this season.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If Norwich play like they did against City, it will cause us a lot of problems. Norwich play a pressing game, but seeing how we cannot create a chance without half-a-pitch worth of space behind the defence, they may very well change their tactics and sit back.

I can't see us scoring unless we get a penalty. 0v0.

There are a lot of things Ole supporters come up with which has no rational explanation.

We do look more solid, but I think it is a bit of an illusion since we don't have Smalling or Jones making comedy errors. When teams attack us with intent, we still look vulnerable. However, the Ole-inners need a narrative to base their flimsy arguments on.

I hope we can stop them
Moyes got slaughtered with this type of defeatist POV.

Be solid at the back and have Fred and McTominay work a lot better together similar to Liverpool, but not too deep, and attack (counter) Norwich. They are so open at the back and their GAs show that.

To be fair, Moyes had a title winning team and Ole has a mix of shit from 6 years of dross with a few he's signed himself

We may look vulnerable at times but we aren't giving up many chances in the PL.
However, we are being let down by individual defensive errors which all seem to result in a goal. Even then we're level with City on 4th in the league for goals conceded.

The defence isn't an issue and would be fine if the team could create some chances.

I'm optimistic we'll win this one because it's flipping Norwich and if I can't be optimistic about that I might as well just pack it in.

    We all love United
Not sure if Fred can hack it in a scrappy game against a promoted side where it’s not at Old Trafford. Play Andreas along with Mctominay and hope they come out tops in the midfield

Think Ole will go back to a 4-3-3 formation for this game.

Agree with the title winning team bit, 100%. However, these are the quotes per the club...and it's not the best reading.

"I hope we're going to stop them because it's always going to be difficult down at Carrow Road but we're ready for it now. We've got some players back. I managed to take Aaron and Anthony offer after 60 minutes as they were out a long time. Hopefully, it will be a fresh team because we need to be up at our best to have a chance."

I get what you're saying, but at least it's realistic. He can't say were gonna smash them, cause it's doubtful. I'm just taking it as the old footy manager game response, where you say "it won't be an easy game, but if we play to our ability then we should come away with the victory".

Ole has been quoted in the past as taking off various info from the Fifa and Football manager franchises.

    Lindelof......Mag.....Rojo
    Awb.....Scott....Fred.....Young
    Andreas
    Rashford....James (Martial)

Pogba for Fred if he is fit enough for aome minutes, I would also prefer Williams in for Young, but that's just hope. Probably another drab performance, but hoping to get on a winning run finally so going 1-0.
I absolutely hate the 3-5-2. I would much rather see a formation where we get our best players on the pitch. We won't need an extra player in midfield. So if we insist on 3 in the back then I would rather see a 3-4-3

I just hope AWB is ok. Am I the only one that found it strange that when we switched to a back 4 yesterday it was AWB that came off and Jones moved to RB???

He's in a cast, or was 10 days ago. If its a splnt fracture to one of the small bones then you want that to be allowed to set and heal before risking anything. If it sets wrong or you play Paul too quickly so theres a chance a stress fracture can reappear, he might have to undergo surgery. These things take time. And by all accounts Pogba have been training well during his recovery.

If he's moved back its because the medical staff has not cleared him for play.

And have conceded 9 goals. Which puts us at 4th stingiest team in the league along with Manchester City.

it just baffles me that people are writing that we'll get destroyed for some obscure reason. Our defense, like it or not, have been phenomenal.

We need to be stingier with what we do up the pitch ;)

And we've conceded the joint-fifth least goals in the league, two behind the leaders. I know clean sheets are the thing in FF but I don't think I said anything wrong.

You are not wrong. However, the point I am trying to make is that even though we don't concede many, the ones we do concede cost us points because we don't score enough. More clean sheets would help knowing that there is not going to be any overnight change in how we create chances and score goals.

Agreed, from the XG stats I've seen and what I've gathered watching the games this year we're not bad at all at limiting our opponents' good chances, but we have the unholy trinity of no creativity, being clueless from set pieces and missing key chances from open play, meaning very few goals and unbelievably frustrating performances.

I also get the point you're making that we're liable to switch off towards the end of games defending a single goal or even a 0-0. Not the thing to breed confidence in players or fans to be honest.

Could search for 20 minutes and find literally hundreds of similar throwaway shit by managers of every big club in the world. This is just rinse and repeat framing of every little thing to affirm some fans outrage and phony disbelief at just 'how far the mighty have fallen'

'Klopp told reporters: "Crystal Palace are difficult to play against. They're really tall, and you have to play special'

Omfg he thinks Liverpool have to be special to beat Palace what a small time out of his depth.......

Surely Solskjaer’s quote is designed to embolden Norwich to attack and thus let United into the game on the counter?
