How Rashford lasted the full 90 I don't know.
He actually got better once Sancho went off. As though he thought he was gonna be pulled and then relaxed a little when he wasn’t. I thought Bruno was even worse to be honest. And that’s the worrying thing to me. That Donny didnt come on to replace him till the last two minutes, just like Ole. I get why Rashford stayed on for his pace on the counter running in behind. But Bruno was playing the worst I’ve ever seen him play. Donny shoulda been on at 60 no question.

I love people's ability to blame everything on Maguire here. You could be a politician with skills like that.
If rashford isn't smart enough to play the game situation and keep the ball, the captain needs to step in.

Fancy another narrow victory. The thing I was happy to see against Palace was that, although they were no mugs and we took a while to break them down, we didn't make them look like 1970 Brazil. If we can again look like a functioning football team here we should have 3 points. Would take another 1-0.
Read your comment earlier and thought ‘pfft nah - it’s Norwich. We will smash ‘em.’
Fair play, You called the 1-0. Not sure we looked like a functioning football team though and we had a good go at making them look like Brazil, especially first half!

Job done, clean sheet, three points.

    - why was Sancho taken off?
    - how poor were Rashford & Bruno? The latter probably had his worst game for us.
    - back four still not filling me with confidence
    - McFred very tidy, lovely to see

Did he think he'd be subbed in the first half?

Got the win but if we perform like that consistently we won’t be winning many games. Hopefully can follow it up with a win against Brentford but will need to do better.

Wow we have looked as bad today as any other time this season. Ralf needs to sort this out quickly because Brentford will be a lot better than Norwich and dropping Rashford and Bruno would be a good start.
No we weren’t as wide open as against Liverpool and Watford. As bad of an attacking display though yes.

I've always seen McTominay as a sleeper cell for when we need a goal. If he makes a single forward pass it will instantly unlock rival defences. No one will have seen it coming.

Problem is, neither would our forwards, or him for that matter.
Called it. Scott lobbed it into the box, cue penalty and winner.

Ralph has had a baptism of fire realy in todays game , this Xmas schedule is intense and I bet this is a learning curve for him as well, it's game after game. Conditions were bad as well. Just go again next game same intensity .

Marcus and Bruno really need to take responsibility on their form in the last couple of games, they're awful. The they can't do the easiest things.

Rashford is worse because every time this kid starts with a dribble he always run right into a wall of opposition players and take a touch and another touch and another touch until he loses the ball. All of our front 4 suffering from a radical lack of concentration.

The only thing I don't understand is why is he hiding ? First half non of our defense gave him the ball, the only one from the midfield who did came and got the ball is Fred.

I don't think Scott touch the ball in the first half. he's have to stop hiding every time and come and take the ball and pass it into our attack, it's so vital to us.

I know a win is a win but I am hoping for more than just scraping a 1-0 win over a covid hit Norwich team who have been mostly poor this season even without covid issues.
I was hoping for more, I didn't get more, so much improvement is needed, got to beat Brentford on Tuesday & play much better.

Hard fought 3-points but a massive win. Like Champions sometimes winning ugly away from home. 3 wins on the bounce the first time in ages. Norwich was up for it because it's on the Tele and it's Manchester United. New manager too.

Under Ole we lose that game because we would concede about 3.

Rangnick first away game in just over a week in the job he will have learnt so much to improve on from this game.. cut the bloke some slack United will get better and give a team a proper pasting soon by 3 or 4 goals. Maybe Brentford on Tuesday or Brighton next weekend.

Viva Ronaldoooooo and De Gea our saviours this season.

A new manager, first priority to address the leaking defence, then build on that, from mid field to the strikers. Well in the last 3 games have stopped leaking goals. ( Though partially through good goal keeping, which he is paid to do ) So onto the next stages mid field and goal scoring, step at a time and I would say its at this momenmt in time progress, can we maintain it only time will tell.
With regards to Mctominay and the view that he hides during the game. Well and this is my opinion which I do not think is in the majority view and I expect to be shot down. If he has been coached by Carrick then that is what I would expect. Carrick was a mid field player who when the game got physical tended to fade from the game, given space and time was an excellent passer of the ball. Prior to Utd he made 64 appearances for spurs scoring his first goal 3.12.205 and his second and final goal on the 8.4.2006. For Utd he palyed 316 games and scored 17 goals which is about 1 goal per 18 games or on a season 2. Not what I would require from a mid field player at thast time..
Compare that with Steve Bruce, 309 games and 36 goals which is just over 8 per game.

Very poor. I'd like to see some changes. The formation my be different but the line up is the same. Please give VdB a start vs Brentford, but not in place of Bruno. He's not a #10. Have him play in place of McTominay
