I reckon this will be a high scoring match. Similar team to Saturday with a solid base in midfield to start off with and bring on more creativity if required. Let Bruno Mata/VDB and Rash hit them on the counter. Play McT and Bailly to rough up a few of their influential players and stop their flow. I wouldn’t be starting Pogba Martial or greenwood as they have been off the pace so far. PSG aren’t looking as solid this year and they are missing a few good players so I think we can get a draw which would be a nice start in the trickiest away fixture of the group. Bet Herrera has a great game against us if he plays, he’ll be all over Bruno

I don’t know if anyone noticed it during Newcastle game but there was a moment where Maguire appeared to pull up slightly and reach for the hamstring area. I’m wondering whether that has inflamed after the game.
    I noticed that too.

As long as VDB starts this time, Im happy. Probably (maybe/sadly)) the most experienced CL player we have right now so I have no doubt he can handle it.
I will be seriously mystified if VDB doesn’t start this game considering he had such an impact when coming on. He looks as sharp as anyone. And with our fixture congestion it’s a no brainer to start him.

Tuchel confirms Marquinhos and Draxler are back in training.
ADM who hasn't been playing in the league will be well rested, fit and raring to go.

So no real injuries for PSG? Looks like we will both have full teams.

Aren't 23 player matchday squads allowed in the CL this season? Yet our traveling party is only 21. Surely a couple of the missing names will go.

Icardi, Paredes and Veratti are out. I am not sure how hot their form was.
Ah ok. That's actually quite good for us, although Mbappe Neymar and Di Maria can just feck up a game in one swoop. Hopefully our midfield can win the central battles.

Shame but had a feeling he wasn't going to travel after only a days training with the team, could have just took him anyway for team spirit much like they have done with Pellistri
If he hasn’t travelled it’s because he is still way short on cardio fitness, which is better improved at Carrington and without wasting energy travelling?

a shame as I liked the narrative of him playing against his former team and stadium

How do you make a CB partnership or back three with these resources? Difficult

I hope we don't play 5 at the back. We should just play the way we have been doing. Maybe play Bruno, Pogba and VDB together and see how it goes. If we go with 5 at the back and 3 midfielders, we'll end up defending the whole match and PSG will put pressure and get the goals eventually. I hope we just play 4-3-3 and go for it. If we get a good start, things might head our way. If we start by defending and on the back foot, they'll swallow us alive. Come on Ole, attack attack attack! A draw is the minimum best we must get in this match.

:nervous: I just realize no Bailly... looking dead certain McT and Fred will play to protect our defense.

Our CBs selection will be interesting.

    Think I'll go with this,
    De Gea
    AWB -- TFM -- Lindelof -- Shaw -- Telles
    McTominay -- Fred
    Bruno
    Rashford -- Martial
With McT-Fred supporting our defense, switching TFM with VDB for 4231 won't be a bad choice either.

Based on the travelling squad it has to be a back 5
    AWB / Lindelof - Tuanzebe - Shaw / Telles

Martial has to start too, huge game this weekend

Was out on the lash with williams apparently. Ole has relegated him to the reserves
Is that true? Every news I hear of Greenwood lately has not been great.

It can’t be anything else. Ole dropped that hint by taking up that formation in the last 20 minutes. It unlocks the fullbacks ( AWB goal) and eventually Telles. VDB plays a stabilizing role between Scott, Pogba and Bruno. Scott is a false CB - he’s shown to be quite good in that position anyway. Martial and Rashford have great chemistry and obviously know how to play the channels well. Potentially Matic for Scott.

Thomas Tuchel revealed that forward Mauro Icardi – who has netted twice in four games for the Parisians this season – will sit out the clash at the Parc des Princes.
The Argentinian front-man picked up a knee-ligament injury. PSG also have a problem in midfield, as Marco Verratti is out with a quadriceps issue, while Leandro Paredes was injured during Friday’s 4-0 win over Nimes in Ligue 1.
The French champions’ starting full-backs from last season’s final, Thilo Kehrer and Juan Bernat, are also out.

There is, however, some good news for the hosts as captain Marquinhos and German playmaker Julian Draxler are set to train on Monday in preparation for the game.
Tuchel confirmed former United man Angel di Maria and full-back Layvin Kurzawa are available. The pair have been missing in recent weeks after serving domestic suspensions.

“For my team, today we are expecting Marquinhos and Draxler to start practice with us after the press conference and we hope they’ll be able to play with us,” said Tuchel.

“Verratti will be missing, as will Icardi, Paredes, Kehrer and Bernat.”

    why no cavani? :(
Been a free agent since June means no training since then apart from 2 days with the club as he had to quarantine for 2 weeks since signing. Will take him a few weeks to get some fitness.

No Maguire makes it hard to guess. Definitely think we do some weird 3-5-2, but with Matic or McTominay as one of the 3 CBs next to Lindelof and Shaw. Would also like Henderson to be in net, he needs his time and a clean split of cup/league goalkeepers should keep them both happy for the time being.

    Henderson
    Lindelof Matic Shaw
    Wan Bissaka McTominay Pogba Telles
    Bruno
    Rashford Martial

Greenwood off the bench, Fred off the bench, Van de Beek off the bench. Would be delighted if VdB started but I don't see it with Pogba being rested on the weekend. Maybe VdB for Bruno, but Ole will never rest Bruno away to PsG.

Maguire picked up a slight tear, but will hopefully be back against Chelsea.

Not sure how we'll go with a back 3 now.

I dont think theyll play after 1 training session
