    There's only one United!
You know that after Messi and Ronaldo , Cavani is the best goal scorer around?

So we buy DVB and Cavani and we haven't been putting them in the starting lineup!

Ole you still have a lot to learn.

DVB was a bit baffling, I guess he wanted him to work his way up the list instead of just immediately playing him. But Cavani I think was fair enough, he didn't look match sharp or fit in his first few appearances for us. Now both are fresh and ready to help just when we're entering the crazy period. It'll be a good kick up the arse for Martial too, hopefully that forces his game back up.

It's like with Telles and Henderson, they both had to wait for their chances to come and now they all have a point to prove. Might have harmed us short term, but long term I think it's the more shrewd move. We'll see.

Southampton 2-3 Man Utd has got to be my favourite scoreline.

There's a whole vault of good memories associated with it

I don't understand the formation change. We have played one good game in a 4-4-2 diamond but we are coming off a great performance midweek with a 4-2-3-1 featuring VdB in #6 and Cavani in #9. I understand that Martial is out but we can still do that same formation with Greenwood...
If there is one team in the PL that plays similarly to Leipzig, that's Southampton. And thus the diamond.

What do you think of Telles so far? A massive improvement on Shaw or a potential back up? I know it's a relatively short window to compare.

Think he's excellent, oozes class on the ball. Defensively secure too. He doesn't need to make runs and get close to the oppositions penalty area (like Shaw would do) because his delivery from wide is very dangerous. Still early days, but so far looking good.

Match day comments, once again embarrassing.

I dont see us scoring 3 goals and thats assuming we dont concede another.

3 points is a tall order against mighty southampton!
For the first time in years i thought we couldn't comeback with the second half yet to commence. I shall be quiet for another few years now.

Yes, going to be interesting to see who Ole prefers for the system once Shaw is back fit.
Defensive Position wise I think Telles might get exposed against "better" players but got to weigh that up with what he offers offensively. Good to finally have options!

Where the hell did Huntelaar get 417 goals, Is he counting playground goals too?

All the expert pundits were forecasting OGS getting the boot at halftime but had to grovel after an inspired performance in the second half. Problem is consistency as it has been for a while. Now they are fitter and have at least two world class players to guide them, it should improve. Cavani won’t play every week I guess, so the sooner Rash and Greenwood and maybe Martial decide they want to be a centre forward the better so they can learn of Cavani.

BBC commentator "Harsh on Southampton, who absolutely dominated that 1st half"
Simliar was said by the presenter on MOTD last night and a clueless Jermaine Jenas agreed with him.

In reality United was the better team in the opening 20 minutes yesterday then Southampton took the lead against the run of play via a poorly defended corner. The 2-0 half time scoreline was ridiculously harsh on United.

Surprising that because Chapman is meant to be a Utd fan, obviously he has to be objective on camera like Neville for Sky but away from it presume he was happy with result

I was listening to Talksport this morning (Glutton for punishment I know) and the early breakfast show barely even mentioned our comeback performance. It’s like it never happened.

No worries, there really should be a ban on quoting comments made in the match day thread when the match is still on. I really couldn’t resist though. Sorry and for what it’s worth I think you’re on to something.
People who post “ I’m sick of watching this rubbish I’ve turned it off deserved to be quoted .
anything else in the heat of the moment possibly.

If they were talking about Jiminez or maybe the F1 crash instead you’d say fair enough but if they were talking Chelsea - Spurs I’d have turned off
