Defeat for Spurs probably rules them out in the top 4 chase. We could finish the day 7 points clear of Leicester - equally, we could find ourselves only one point ahead of them with a resurgent Liverpool/Chelsea chasing us down.

Spurs aren't great, but they have won their last 3 home games and scored at least 2 goals in each.

Given all that's at stake, with the 6-1 in his mind and with the Europa second leg to come, I think Ole will favour a cautious approach and try to come away with a point.

I know it's pathetic but I think I'd sacrifice the Uefa cup just to get a draw in this match. I cannot bear the thought of losing against Mourinho. I feel as nervous as if it were a title decider.

«Going for it» will be an disaster with our players tired and Spurs counter attacking against our slow and tired back line. Need to keep things tight and hope for a pen.
93rd minute dodgy VAR penalty to sneak a 1-0 would really light a fuse under Mourinho. Can’t wait.

Would like to see us set up like this today
    De Gea
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Fred Pogba
    Bruno
    Greenwood Cavani Rashford

Ole will probably go with this
    Henders
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McFred
    Bruno
    James Greenwood Rashford

Would like to play 5 at the back to close the spaces for Son and Kane, but Ole will probably play his usual team with Pogba on the left.

My team 352 ( knowing that Rashford is not fit)

    De Gea - AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw - Telles - Fred - Pogba - Fernandes - Greenwood - Cavani

    Ole s team : 4231

    Henderson - AWB - Maguire - Lindelof - Shaw - Fred - Mc Tominay - Rashford - Bruno - Pogba - Cavani

You'd expect the players to put their heart and soul into winning this game as the consequences of losing are unfathomable.

    Glaston, the return.

    God save us all.

Ole needs to stop with the negative lineups against the top teams. It worked last season but hasn't worked at all this season.

McFred have been a terrible pair against the top teams

Pogba will come on second half for sure, no way he can play a whole game while he gets back up to fitness and its probably better for him to come in later than start. Fred can do a decent job with son probably

I've put Rashford in 11, I would like him to sit this one out. Play Fred Mctom cm Pogba on the left. But can see Ole going strong on this at start.

All about securing a top 2/3 finish.
A draw away to Spurs, though underwhelming wouldn't be a bad result.

If there is one thing Jose will love to do is completely take Pogba out of the game. So maybe it wouldn’t be the worst thing if he comes later on as a sub.

What? Do you by any chances have seen our defensive record this season? Has alot to do with McFred. And did you see how Matic and Pogba worked out, or any combo with Pogba in the pivot? No control in midfield whatsoever.

You can say what you want about Spurs, but if you let them run free in your mid they are gonna do a number on you.

I would think Pogba on LW would be better though, James there is just over the top defensive.

Wish we’d for once look to be on the front foot and move away from the 4-2-3-1 and McFred...

    Henderson
    Awb Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Fred
    VdB Bruno
    Greenwood Cavani Pogba

Expecting a defensive performance and team from Ole. However I think Spurs will do us again.

    2-1 Spurs.

Is Cavani fit? if Pogba and Greenwood are on the bench then who the hell starts upfront.

Pogba will be determined for this one given the opposing coach.

I still feel McFred must play with Greenwood, Pogba, Rashford and Bruno ahead of them.

1W , 5D and 2L , where 1 of the losses were against Spurs with Matic and Pogba. So defensivly quite good.

Exactly my reasoning behind McFred. Need to be tight against a fresh Spurs with counters against our slow backline.

Has to get retaken because Lloris was off his line.

Fully agree. This would have been perfect:

    Henderson
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McT Fred
    Rashford Bruno Pogba
    Greenwood

It's so funny that we persist with McFred Midfield when the cup game where we didn't play both of them is the game we actually won.

McFred in the league has been bad against the good teams this year. Yet we don't try anything else. It's insanity

Matic and Pogba played against Spurs earlier in the season. We lost 6-1.
