I actually think we have a good chance here... Pellegrini just isn't a park the bus manager and pogba or no we can punish teams that don't park the bus
Teams don't have to park the bus against us. They just have to defend well and be compact.

    This would be my selection
    ----------------------De Gea---------------------
    AWB----Lindelof----Maguire----Young
    ----------Matic ------McTominay--------
    ------Lingard------Fred-------James-----
    --------------------Rashford------------------

Somes minutes for Gomes, Greenwood and Mata.
Same here, except I'd maybe put Pereira/Greenwood in ahead of Lingard. If Greenwood is fit enough then I'd go with him as first choice, but of course you don't want to push it with such a talented youngster.

Pereira offers less overall but more final product I'd say, marginally over Lingard. Much of muchness between the two though.

I'd like to see Tuanzebe over Lindelof as the season progresses, but today certainly isn't the day, and Mata can stay on the bench for me.

There's no way we get a win here. Just can't see it.
It's the premier league, this season is going to be a really weird one for results and anything can happen. Having said that, i'm not super confident about this game as West Ham always raise their game against us  I'm more confident for the game against Arsenal.

Surprised if Mason’s not even on the bench, I bet he’s itching to go again after scoring on Thursday.
Yeah, I'd be very surprised if he's not in she squad.

What reason would Solskjaer have to not put him in there?
We have had difficulties in scoring goals. He's the last one to score. He's not injured.

I read a rumour that he's worried that if he scored again this weekend he might have to drop Rashford

Doesnt make any sense, but saying that I do think Ole is blinkered by 'Rashy' - he's essentially put all his goalscoring eggs in that basket so he might feel wary of dropping him in case it brings criticism etc. Giving him 200k a week is basically saying 'this is our main man' - it might be a bit disconcerting that he's already not really looking like the main man, at all.

Weird post considering its Martial who plays up top.

If we win tomorrow we'll go 3rd.

Are we not as bad as we think, or are our rivals just really shit?

Because watching us play, we look really shit. Surely we're not the 3rd best team in the league? fecking embarrassing for the others if we are.

That being said, it's an away game, something we haven't won since PSG six months ago. Our best two outfield players are missing too.

We have key injuries too, you should perhaps give us some credit.

I've watched every game this season. I give us credit for Chelsea, the first half against Wolves & the first 20 minutes against Southampton. Nothing else deserves credit.

Edit - I attempted to watch the Leicester game, but my completely legal device to watch the game kept cutting out. From what I saw we were shit.

I would prefer Mata to stay on the bench too, just thought if Gomes and Greenwood came on Mata's experience in midfield would help, we dont really have anyone else except Pereira and he's not lighting any fire's at the moment.

Would love Greenwood to start but think Ole will give him minutes off the bench to protect him and keep his feet on the ground. Looking forward tonthe game. 2-1 United my guess.

Two goals! An optimist I see

Good point that, Mata's about the only experience head we've got to put in there amongst the youngsters.

Agreed on Greenwood and that may be the best way to manage him for the time being. If he's looking fit and ready to go though I do hope Ole gives him the chance.

He's about the only player we have for the RW who you feel could pull a bit of magic out of nowhere.

My heart says 1-0, my head 1-1.

Judging by the list of players spotted, I’ve got a feeling that Ole might go with this:

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Young

    McTominay
    Fred

    Lingard
Mata (would have preferred Gomes, but can’t see it happening)
    James

    Rashford

    subs:
    Romero
    Dalot
    Tuanzebe
    Matic
    Gomes
    A.Pereira
Chong (would have been Greenwood but no sign of him on the list, therefore I think Chong will take his place on the bench)

    Score Prediction:
    West Ham 1-1 Manchester United

Anyway a win would be fantastic. It's this kind of conjuncture that should be leveraged in order to regain confidence and momentum.

Let's not forget Greenwood if only 17 and he will start v Rochdale next Wednesday so the chances of his starting 3 games in a row was always slim.

Two away draws this season already in matches that United could have won. If going back to last season it's 8 games in all competitions without an away win, in other words United are long overdue a win on the road.

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Young

    Fred McTominay

    Rashford Lingard James

    Greenwood

Rash Bandicoot has been woeful in the 9 role, his chances should strictly be restricted to a wide forward position, atleast AWB can clean up his mess. This isn't far off our strongest 11.

No Greenwood or Dalot would be disappointing after their performances on Thursday, but maybe they picked up knocks against Astana? Hopefully that isn't the case.

I want us to go with a 433 here but I'll be surprised if Fred starts again right away, so I'm thinking Matic again with McTominay & Andreas, with a front three of Lingard, Rashford and James.

    de Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Young
    Andreas McTominay Matic
    Lingard Rashford James
    ---
Romero; Tuanzebe, Rojo; Fred, Mata, Gomes, Chong

I didn’t expect him to start but he would be an option from the bench considering we have well nothing really there.

Sounds worse than it actually is. It's 8 games, which is bad, but 6 months sounds worse.
Yeah 6 months does make it sound worse but like you said 8 games is still shocking.

Wonder what the longest we've gone without an away win is.

I have a very bad feeling about this.

Key match. Win this to enter autumn with confidence and ideas.

Lose it or a miserable 0-0 and it's "the sky is falling-OleEdGlazersPogba out" all over again.
