Can't score goals, that's it, Same V spurs game over in 1st half, draw. Same v Brighton Same v West Ham can't take the chances. Add in DDG throwing one in his own net

Or maybe not splash 100m on a 15m player?
Antony may prove to be a flop, but that price is partly on the club for leaving it late.

Maybe it was better to buy a RW and a striker for combined 100m rather than one player for 100m but I would rather back his conviction on one player.

At the end of the day it shows where the squad was, how much it needs.

Cannot escape the "Groundhog day" feeling yesterday, such a familiar story.

In first part of the game (up to Davids 'brain fart',) we had quietened the crowd, made at least four good chances, two of which most definitely we should have scored, we had almost complete control and played some nice football, if not effective in terms of scoring.
Then something goes wrong, in this case David's mistake and suddenly we turn to 'jelly', West Ham woke up realised they had a chance and they never looked back.

We rallied a bit in the later stages, but by which time West Ham were in 'just defend the Alamo' mode.
Its all old saying but "if you don't take your chances etc." and we have been living that experience in the last few games. I've based my player ratings for the most part in the first half, also because although we didn't play that badly, we were not able to put away a team, who have a semi-final this week and judging on post match comments, they expected a much harder time and were set up to defend from the KO.

He has worked with Antony before, if he watched him play this way, and sanctioned a 100m deal for that quality, his judgement obviously is questionable.

And yeah, it was definitely a better option to combined 2 players for 50m than Antony, and many of us questioned the amount payed, for the same reason, every sane fan on this forum understood that overpaying for certain players and positions will hurt our ability to reinforce in the near future. It showed in January and we will see what happens in the summer.

No, not off the back of our worst season in decades. The progress he has made is remarkable in one season. He’s ahead of the curve at this point. We’ve won a trophy and have another final to look forward to. We still have every chance of a top 4 finish. Hold your nerve.
Give me a break - the progress he has made is NOT remarkable. We picked up 58 points last season with the worst season in decades as you describe it - we currently are at 63 with 3 games to play. And that was after adding players like Martinez, Antony and Casemiro to the squad. It's progress, but it's not as much progress as it should have been - and some of the results have been shocking

Sadly your arguement is time barred. You lose :D
    We were talking on Sunday!
Seriously though, given the Ronaldo saga, injuries to key players, Casemiro being a card magnet, having no striker most of the season and playing a few thousand games deep in 4 competitions we have done remarkably well. A trophy and top 4 is absolutely progress, and our football at times has been fantastic.
