Conte's Juve dominated in Italy with Matri and Vucinic as the main attackers. In midfield we had Pirlo, Vidal, Marchisio and Pogba. In defence we had Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzagli and Lichtsteiner. In goal we had Buffon. Take a wild guess which position was the least important to our success.

In the last 25 years only behind Pirlo for me, absolutely sublime player. Close between him and Xavi though.

His decline was already evident last Season at Juve. It became very apparent towards the end of the season with his touch completely abandoning him, he was losing the ball left, right and centre. He still scored goals so those who don't follow Juve assumed that he was still doing great.

He was great for us and was an important part of one of our greatest ever midfields. Playing with the likes of Pirlo, Vidal and Marchisio allowed him the freedom to express himself. We didn't need him to control the game or to be a defensive destroyer, we needed him to have his moments of magic...

It hindered us massively. We just had two coaches who wanted us to press high, but we just couldn't do it effectively and a big reason was Ronaldo's low work-rate off the ball. Of course you could also argue that those coaches were wrong to try and play a style that didn't suit our superstar player.
