  1. Chelsea 2020/21 - General discussion

https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/ Not really forum format, but this is perhaps the most active Chelsea community on the internet that I know of, besides Chelsea subreddit. Few years ago, the daily off-topic thread used to hit 3000+ comments on its most active days. The off-topic threads...
  2. 10 Times United deals have been hijacked

Not true. Ranieri scouted Robben several times and actually recommended the club to sign Cech, Robben and Drogba. He was later replaced by Mourinho, so he never got to use him
  3. Mourinho and Man Utds conflicting interest

I don't know about conflict of interest, but there seems to be already a PR battle going between Jose and Ed. Mourinho publicly saying he gave Ed the list couple of months ago. Then after the Griezmann decided to stay, United had to immediately brief the media about how they moved to other...
  4. Solanke to Liverpool

Maybe you didn't notice, but I am a Chelsea fan. So it IS terrible for us to lose a highly rated prospect to a rival for such a low price. Maybe you thought I'm a United fan complaining about some random player moving to Liverpool?
  5. Solanke to Liverpool

He is not a cast off. He just wouldn't sign a contract. They've got a pretty good prospect who was banging 40 goals a season at youth level as a 17 year old. It's an incredibly low risk high reward signing for them. Terrible for us
  6. Chelsea under Conte | Let's sign the next Hazard, literally.

so we are not shit and overachieving like so many people have been saying above? I was specifically speaking about players we bought to move to 3-4-3 and the new philosophy. I'm not sure whether you are trying to agree with me here or if it's a generic rant. This is why I said we'll bring in...
  7. Chelsea under Conte | Let's sign the next Hazard, literally.

It's amazing how people are willing to give Jose the "It's not his team", "He'll buy new players and make the team better" excuse, while Conte doesn't get the same excuses that Jose gets. It's either "they will slip back into mediocrity next season" or "There is no way your squad is great" etc...
  8. Worst overall premier league season ever? | Not on about United so stop mentioning how we did

I don't believe it was the worst. Spurs had 86 points, which could've won them the league most years. We just raised our game and won an unprecedented 30 games in a PL season. Top four race went on until last day. Arsenal had 75 points and still didn't make top four! If anything, it's not a lack...
  9. No one seems to be talking about Wilfred Ndidi

He just moved to a new club in January. Everyone knows his quality. We were even linked with a move directly out of Belgium. He went to Leicester instead. Can't see him moving for another year
  10. Premier League Gameweek 37

If we beat Sunderland, that will be most number of wins in a single season. We will have overcome our own record.
  11. Premier League Gameweek 37

Mourinho tried him as a wingback couple of times
  12. Transfer Tweets - 2017 | When posting a tweet in a foreign language, post English translation too

Let me add that Andre villas-boas the manager who wanted to take Oscar to Tottenham and personally scouted him in Brazil after he was fired from Chelsea (and before he moved to Spurs) is the manager of the same Chinese club that bought Oscar. Definitely a player manager asked for
  13. Bank projects Manchester United transfer budget is £133m for 2017

So basically I was right about amortization, but the thread starter incorrectly assumed the article was talking about transfer budget. okay, got it.
  14. Bank projects Manchester United transfer budget is £133m for 2017

I am just replying to the thread starter saying the budget is 133 Million. I assumed he got that from the article. As for accounting standards, clubs do use amortization. It's documented in several football finance blogs.
  15. Bank projects Manchester United transfer budget is £133m for 2017

No. It's just what clubs do for accounting purposes. When you sell a player, all the money you get is shown in the book as lump sum for that year. But when you buy a player, most clubs use amortization, like the example I mentioned above. Using that same example, if you then go on to sell...
