  1. England Discussion | Finish 4th

Depends on what Germany do in their group. If Germany fail to win their group then it's preferable for England to finish 2nd in the group. The group winners would almost certainly meet Brazil or Germany in the QF and then Spain or Argentina in the SF. The group runner up would likely meet...
  2. Harry Kane MBE | Performances

I don't know whether it is Kane taking it upon himself because he is Captain, or whether it's by design, but Kane is playing a different role for England than he does for Spurs. At Spurs he tends to lead the line and when he does drop deeper to spread the play, he gets forward again. He is...
  3. Harry Kane MBE | Performances

His passing and vision are excellent. If he stays injury free he should have a long career as he doesn't rely on pace and in the latter part of his career I can see him dropping deeper and playing like a Teddy Sheringham. The main reason he doesn't have many assists is that his team mates...
  4. Dele Alli - Performance Thread 2017/18

That's what I thought too. Alli can be frustratingly inconsistent at the best of times but he started yesterday's game really well. The first ten minutes he was at the heart of everything England did well on the ball. Then he tailed off and by the second half he was a passenger. Whether that...
  5. International Friendlies May/June

That was definitely a pass. His foot and body shape clearly proves he wasn't shooting.
  6. Harry Kane MBE | Performances

Do you have some evidence to back that up? From Kane - "Mo has done great this year, he deserves it, he deserves the Golden Boot. I am looking forward to the competition again next season."
  7. Current Workhorse Top 11

Eriksen for us. Works his arse off game after game and even now a lot of fans think he is lazy!
  8. Mo Salah

I hate to admit it but I think Lampard became a very under rated player by English fans. He was a superb player and way more than just a midfield goal scorer. His passing was fantastic but because he didn't really exhibit flair, try Hollywood passes every 5 minutes or charge around the pitch...
  9. Who decided Spurs could use Wembley?

Playing at Wembley is no advantage to Spurs. This isn't White Hart Lane. Indeed if we are put in the away dressing room it may even hold us to a disadvantage.
  10. State of the refs in this country

Nailed it. Both decisions were correct by the law. I also agree with you the offside rules are a farce. Every player is interfering with play in my opinion.
  11. Harry Kane MBE | Performances

It doesn't actually matter whether he was touched or not. If a player successfully avoids contact, that would be a foul, then it's still a foul even though no contact was made. It's quite astonishing how few fans realise this. In this case, it was a clear foul. The ball was gone, the keeper...
  12. Unsexy players you think could have made it as squaddies at a top 4 club

I have wanted him at Spurs for years. Bad injury record though.
  13. The Spurs thread | 2017-18 season | Serious thread - wummers/derailers will be threadbanned

I think the problem is both him and Wanyama missing. If it was just Wanyama missing then Dier will play there and it doesn't interrupt us too much. With both out it means Dier drops back into defence leaving us with no real recognised defensive midfielder. It makes us a bit of an unbalanced mess.
  14. Scholes vs Lampard vs Gerrard

Speaking as a neutral Scholes --> Lampard --> Gerrard It should have been criminal the way Scholes was shunted wide for England to accommodate Gerrard. Scholes was easily the best out of the three and it should have been the other two who made way for him.
  15. Greatest Passers of all time?

Lampard had a great range of passing but it was understated. He could ping very accurate 40 yard balls forward and play one touch around the area effectively. What he didn't do was drive the play like Stevie Me used to do, primarily because he played in better sides and secondarily because he...
