Well, Sir Jim, is often banging on about "the smart money" and how United have been squandering Millions. With the way fees have been going, I'd be very surprised if a price tag of less than £60m was attached to Branthwaite, and surely the "smart money" then looks at Todibo £40m & Bremer £40m...

Another mysterious signing. It was obvious from day one that he wasn't a player that Solskjaer wanted, so who did make the decision to splurge £40m quid? He must be out of contract soon, so surely another player leaving on a freebie, but at least the wage bill will be reduced... :rolleyes:

Most definitely need to be smarter in the market,Todibo is available for around £40 I believe, Bremer could possibly be in a PX deal with Greenwood, and Tosin is available on a Free. There are three players off the top of my head that make so much more sense than yet another bumper transfer fee...

I am feeling sure that Southgate will get the job, it just feels inevitable to me, especially with the Dan Ashworth connections... Of course another option could be, allow Ten Hag a season under the INEOS structure, then look again next Summer if need be. Ancelotti would be available.. :rolleyes:

And if INEOS are seriously targeting Southgate, and view him as an elite, best in class manager, then I have very serious doubts about their judgement, and the prediction of a League title anytime soon, seems hilarious.

Not only those three, but Donny & Hannibal are likely to be removed from the Midfield pool of options too, so if all 5 of those do move on, it would leave us with only Bruno, Mount, Mainoo & McTominay...!

Well the INEOS mantra has been appointing the best in class, for all footballing positions. If INEOS genuinely believe that the 2 best managers available anywhere in World football are Southgate & Potter, then this really doesn't bode well for the future.

This is going to be the first real test of INEOS. We all know how bad we have been with signing players over the past decade, but we are even worse at selling. When I look through our squad, even being generous, I have 16 players I'd want rid of. How ruthless and efficient are INEOS going to...

Given that INEOS are apparently building a professional & efficient football structure with quality people, then I'd like to believe in the positive vibe. This Summer will be the acid test though. If some of these current players are given a clean slate, and an umpteenth chance to prove...
