Not sure if this was really the case. Thought it was fairly odd in the knockout stages of the EL that Podence was preferred over Jota, and also in the first game of the PL. It may well be that there have been talks between the clubs for a while even though it wasn't reported.

Yeah I agree. Most games it should be fine playing 4231 with both of them and then 352 in the big games. Dont think we would get away with playing 4231 with Sancho, Pogba, Rashford, Martial and Bruno in the side against teams like Liverpool or City.

Fred, Pogba, Bruno with 3 CBs to make up for lack of defensive ability from midfield. Still plenty of creativity and doesnt sacrifice width like a diamond would. Diamond can be exposed like in the second half v Everton. Lindelöf and Maguire stepping up in midfield wiith Smalling as a sweeper...

He is decent, but mostly plays on the left for Villa and thats his best position. Can play as a number 10 as well. We dont need anyone in these positions. We should focus on a top class RW and CB (for Lindelöf). Nothing else needed. If Martial gets injured or needs a rest we can push Rashford up...

Huge fee, but would improve us massively. Would rather take him for 80m than an unproven player like Milenkovic for 50m, like Fiorentina are asking for him.
