  1. Players who burst onto the scene

Guess you are correct as he did play champions league - although doubt most United fans would have heard of him prior to the transfer, either way he certainly did burst onto the world stage with that goal against Liverpool after all the press negativity about over paying etc prior to the game.
  2. Players who burst onto the scene

I know he has been disappointing the passed year but can't beleive noone has mentioned Anthony Martial - probably the most memorable debut of recent times.
  3. Posters whose countries didn’t qualify for Euro 2020, who will you be cheering on this summer?

Have followed Serbia and other former Yugo countries a number of times throughout the years so will be odd to follow Macedonia in one - still can't beleive they finally made it. Anyway as soon as they do get kicked out will jump on Portugal's bandwagon to cheer our Bruno on.
  4. US Men's National Team Discussion

Interesting reading, as an Aussie we are similar in the fact where soccer even though popular with younger kids ( soccer mums) in participation numbers loses its best athletes to cricket, rugby league & union and AFL. A big change that occured in our early 2000's and with the new A league was...
  5. Macedonia qualify for EURO 2020

Pretty good description on first page from Kostov - sorry on my phone and can't multi quote. Only premiership player E Alioski unfortunately plays for Leeds so want him to do well but his team will hopefully get relegated.
  6. Macedonia qualify for EURO 2020

North Macedonia is the name only recently ( less then a year) negotiated by the Macedonian government to enable the country to join NATO and be on a path to EU. This decision was very controversial as the referendum to change the name had less then a 50% turnout as most of the nation didn't want...
  7. Macedonia qualify for EURO 2020

Congratulations my brother- been busy parrying in Sydney at our local Macedonian club ( amount of people was unbelievable) . Can't wait for the euro's and am happy for the nation to be able to celebrate and hope we can become peoples second team as underdogs. So happy you haven't bitten at the...
  8. United and Liverpool driving "Project Big Picture" - Football’s biggest shake-up in a generation

Not surprised to see the Glazers leading this change. They have sucked united dry and can see the writing on the wall that they have pretty much maxxed United out in its current format. Having a euro or world super league would be the only way for them to substantially grow united commercially...
  9. Rafael interview in The Athletic

100% agree with your last paragraph players like Nani and Rafael especially were comfortable being used in squad rotations fighting for a starting spot and like you said even though maybe inconsistent at times they put in alot more better performances than their replacements and more do than...
  10. Rafael interview in The Athletic

The hate on Rafael is ridiculous from some posters. He was a solid young right back( yes he had occasional brain farts - no worse then what ever current players has done)gave his all everytime he stepped on the pitch who was coming off his best year ( last year with SAF). Moyes year was an...
  11. Did he really play for us?

Here is one that surprised me ( arsenal following mate told me a while ago) - a former English captain also technicaly an academy player - David Platt I found a few pics but for the life of me could not paste across. ( new phone)
