    It's a government that has its whole existence based on misinformation and propaganda

    On the Indian side, there's two things clearly happening: a lot of deliberate misinformation fed to the media and minimal details publicly shared by the government institutions. Independant reporting and verification seems to be nearly impossible. You either believe the first or the second.

    Well it should, but the government is seemingly enjoying it, and the media lapdogs are only acting on master's orders. Some of the saner outlets (like thewire) are being deplatformed. See here, a union minister amplifying fake news of a naval attack on Karachi. Those mainstream fake news...
