  1. Would you sack or keep Ole? (Poll reopened)

I still think that Ole is the right man for our rebuild and the criticism is excessive. It’s clear that there is a rebuild plan that was more than a one window project (we spent the summer clearing deadwood and buying a defense, I’m sure that in the next 2 windows the plan is to continue to...
  2. A top quality, clinical striker

Reading through this thread I think people really need to pump the brakes on Greenwood. He looked great against Cardiff and I’m super excited about him too but the fact is he had about 5 chances and didn’t put any of them away. He’s a young guy making his debut so that’s fine but it seems like...
  3. Jonathan Wilson: football is broken

Makes for pretty depressing reading but sadly a very accurate state of affairs. Hard to see a way to reverse things though. I live in the USA where parity is controlled by the league in most sports but in a global game that is basically based on free market principles I don’t see how you could...
  4. Jonathan Liew: Partisan punditry is taking over but should it matter?

I agree that NBC does a good job here in the USA with Lee and Graeme. I enjoy listening to them and think they do a good job of balancing between analysis and stories of personal history and light “banter.” Pretty rarely find myself annoyed with them, unlike NFL broadcasting which is atrocious.
  5. Adrien Rabiot / completing formalities at Juventus

I’m confused by how so many are separating “talent” and “attitude” in this thread. They both affect the performance in the pitch equally so for people to say that even if he has a terrible attitude that he’s too talented to pass up on a free seems silly. Talent is worthless if a player isn’t...
  6. Daniel James | Officially Signs

With the number of potential players leaving that will need to be replaced we can’t expect all of them to be big name signings. If we can buy a young winger with the sort of speed that could be quite a weapon on its own in certain circumstances for only 15M then great. That will leave that much...
  7. The Bailly Substitution

That’s what I thought too. I didn’t notice any sign of injury before that.
  8. Diogo Dalot | 2018/19 Performances

Besides his obvious talent he just comes across as such a good kid. Very excited to have him at the club.
  9. Ashley Young | 2018/19 Performances

Agreed. This place is very reactionary and I think it makes it hard to have good discussions a lot of the time.
  10. Solskjaer PSG Press Conference - 4PM - Live Youtube Link

I think you are right and they certainly responded! I’m glad to see that some of the leaders aren’t being shy about giving him their support for the job permanently. It’d be easy and less risky for them to stay out of it but I think it shows that the belief goes both ways and makes everyone...
  11. Ashley Young | 2018/19 Performances

Yes. The current ones are easy to pick out. The Smalling thread has a very similar vibe.
  12. Ashley Young | 2018/19 Performances

This made me laugh. But I agree with your post. I don’t think enough fans take into account all the factors that it takes to have a successful team. There’s a lot more to it than just the on field performances and older players with the right mentality are worth keeping around to pass that...
  13. Eric Bailly | 2018/19 Performances

The fact that he was the one that didn’t step up and kept Mbappe onside and then also failed to track his man for the goal is pretty inexcusable if you ask me. That has nothing to do with playing out of position. That’s just concentration errors and basic poor defending and I’m not conviniced...
  14. Was it a pen?

Sounds like it was called correctly according to the rules so hard for anyone to complain but my honest feelings are that a situation like that isn’t really a penalty. Great pen by Rashy though to make it count!
  15. Paris St Germain vs Manchester United

Bailly getting caught sleeping twice in one goal is pretty poor
