Scored a vital goal and made some decent defensive contributions particularly on Salah who was bearing down on goal. Better than expected based on his recent form.

That's fair. I just feel given his lack of effort he shouldn't be getting starting berths. An option off the bench at most until the attitude improves, if it ever does.

That seems to match my impression from viewing the games (admittedly not all of them that Onana has played).

He's had a promising start and has all the tools to make it. Let's see how he deals with the pressure going forward, especially with teams becoming more aware of his skillset. Too small of a sample size so far. Being extra hopeful I'm going to say yes he's going to be a mainstay.

Are his long passing stats significantly better than De Gea's?
